At this point i'm leaning towards the PS4 simply because I want a machine that has gaming as it's main priority. Also, most of the entertainment features wont be supported in NZ...
...we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. After going through those meetings, it became very clear that the vision I had for the game was different from where the leadership wanted to take it. I parted ways with EA shortly after...

Most definitely PS4. I don't need tv functionality that won't even work in my country. Plus I don't want to pay more for Xbox Live Gold. And it's very clear that Sony is focused on games, games, games.

It's a no-brainer: PS4. Right now MS has a "lot of splainin to do." It's not a good thing when you have to explain/convince the gamers here on what your product is all about. These new boxes should be able stand on their own merits without much fuss from the PR department. WE can fill in the blanks.

XBOX BY FAR. Its an all in one device and as always XBOX live will be so much better than the PSN.. i'll get both, but my playstation will only be used for exclusives... my online stuff will only be xbox live only

A person has to go a far stretch to justify the foolery Microsoft is pulling with this XBox One. The name is even silly, but minor to how they are going all out of their way to promote features that we already have ways of accessing. So the system does Netflix, TV, Internet, Skype and shows your fantasy scores. Alright, name a device(s) that DOESN'T do all that already with all the technology we have now. I just care about games. PS4 is what I'm going with.
Whatever you do, don't give constructive criticism or say anything negative about Madden video games! It seems to be the equivalent of a felony...

Re: OS Roundtable: PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?

As a primary Xbox 360 player Microsoft is pushing me to be a PS4 owner. I will wait to make my final decision but I don't think we will see much difference in games.

PS4, Ive always wanted Spectator mode and they have it build into their console! I really think the PS4 will be the system that devs prefer to develop for first this gen and its just a more powerful system, exclusive games should look amazing on it.

Re: OS Roundtable: PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?

PS4 cause I buy a gaming console to play games. I hope Sony is used for multi platform games. I already got a cable box for my tv and I got a tablet/ laptop for apps.

I'll never get the "my friends get this one so I'll buy that one too" argument. If you really want to you'll find people to play with in no time. Over the years some of my video game friends also became real life friends.

It's going to be a PS4 at one time. Like many said here, I already have a PC and don't need an entertainment center, just a gaming console. Also, just for the Show, the PS4 will be on top for me. Adding to that NBA2K and I have what I need.

As far the arguments that EA Sports - Microsoft and Pro Leagues are working together, they have been working together for years and EA Sports games have drive me nuts for 4-5 years so if they aren't available for the PS4, good for me, I'll save 72$ for each titles!

Going to stick with current gen for a bit longer but when I do by one it will most likely be a PS4 first.

I can't believe nobody has a problem with the fact that with the Xbox One you will always have a camera and microphone pointed right at you the entire time its on. Call me paranoid but I'm not comfortable with that and the fact that its required instead of a feature that you can turn on and off just backs up my fears.
I was leaning toward the PS4 before based on remote play, sharing and the game lineup but I was looking forward to what Microsoft had planned too. But due to the Kinect requirement its a no-brainer decision for me now. I'll definitely be going with PS4.

^^^^Do you listen to Glenn Beck by any chance??...I kid I kid. I'll be getting both consoles. I actually like the fact that the X1 is an all-in-one system. And if it does work instantly as advertised then color me impressed. However I am a huge MLB The Show fan so I will make sure to pick up the PS4 first just to secure I have mine come next years installment. Personally I'm just looking forward for this next generation to get started.
