Yeah, I see that's what they meant now. Just the current-gen 360, PS3/Wii. I'm going to expand it and add 5 then. Never got into the FIFA series, so sorry soccer fans. I've heard good things about it, and I'm sure it should be on the list.

5). NBA LIVE 10 (say what you want, but this was a good bb sim. 2K programmer Mike Wan was part of the development team then).
4). NHL 13 (not a big hockey fan, but this was a slick, well-done game).
3). Madden 11 (I think this was where the peaked. Likely Madden 25 will be better, but Madden 11 was the best in my opinion).
2). NCAA FB 14 (love it! Smooth play; Infinity Engine 2 ... finally a college football game with realism of movement. Now all EA has to do is get some better color commentary. Not sure how that will pan out minus the NCAA license for '15).
1). Tie: NBA 2K11/College Hoops 2K8 (hands down my fav. First, C-Hoops: it still holds up today and is enjoyable. Create a player feature is deep, and as we all know, the LEGACY mode is unbelievable. 2K11: breakthrough game for 2K sports, my view. Seeing a young MJ out there blew me away. Graphics, movement, Association ... incredible!)

Wow to not see any Madden on the article is telling and a testament to EAs fumbling of their once
        Vaunted franchise...
I actually have to say 1) Madden 13 because its finally the direction that EA should have gone with the very first
        MADDEN of the current gen.
        2) any NHL with the EASHL...probably the most addictive and best addition to online
Sports gaming ever. So good that it overcomes the lack of consistency in graphical and presentation fidelity that Fifa and Madden and NCAA have been fortunate enough to benefit from...and even they are somewhat lacking!!
        3) MLB The Show 12. Before the hitting was tweaked downward. Simply the most realistic game of baseball and most importantly the most realistic Pitcher-Batter interface to date.

Ps. Isn't it ironic almost everyone has College Hoops 2k8 on their list and yet there may never be another made? Not fair
They're saying college basketball games didn't sell. Both EA and 2K. I'm thinking they sold ok but the licensing was killing them.

They didn't have that kind of programming yet when the 360/PS3 came out. It takes years to develop the right code and get it right for each system. Easy to think they should have it all down pat at the beginning. Even with new systems coming out, ONE and PS4, it will be far from perfect.

Well Backbreaker came out in what 2010?
I mean we are talking about EA Sports here right?
If its in the game, its in the game? Some if the deepest, if not THE deepest pockets in gaming.
Other games from different genres were using physics based programming before 2012.
                So respectfully I disagree.
In fact I would say that really the ONLY reason EA went to ANY kind of physics based anything was mainly because of fan outcry (people constantly ripping the game apart on youtube and comparing it to old sega games that did better at realism of movement, and the inevitability of next gen consoles launching in2013.
Without those two factors...EA would still be making Madden games that played like Madden 12.
With that said, I think Madden 25 on Xbone and PS4 is going to do some things that absolutely BLOW us away and I cant wait to start seeing the videos for that game.

                                1. NBA 2K12 - While everybody loves 2K11, I think the inclusion of the NBA's Greatest mode with the TV presentation set to different eras was brilliant. Love the 80's TV style and I spent the first days of owning that game playing that mode exclusively.

                                2. Fight Night Round 4 - Spend countless hours online knocking dudes out and getting knocked out and loved every moment. One of the few games I played almost entirely online.

                                3. NCAA Basketball 2010 - While the love for College Hoops is worthy, I think the split ESPN/CBS idea was the most genuine incorporation of TV presentation since NFL 2K5's use of ESPN. If Madden could have a FOX/CBS/ESPN package, people would stop talking about 2K5 forever. The gameplay in NCAA just couldn't match the presentation, but it was getting there, Sad they had to kill it when it was finally realizing it's potential.
