Im going to be building a new PC soon.

I only purchased MLB THE SHOW for the PS4, and actually played the title sparingly.

All my gaming has been pretty much on a PC or PS3 (primarily for games like NCAA football and CH2k8) for the past 10 years.

For now ended up with the Xbox only because I got extremely lucky. We shall see when I can snag a ps5 too.

As primarily an offline sports video gamer, I have never been less enthused with a new generation of consoles. Sports gaming just keeps going downhill, as far as I can see. There are fewer choices than in the past. Innovation is also on the decline (probably related to the former). And, the big players are focused mostly on esports/online/card collection modes. These are dark days for the offline sports gamer. Frankly, I have little interest in either of the new consoles. The more advanced the consoles get, the higher the difficulty of entrance. We have few enough independent developers in this area (SMB, MaxFB and Axis are pretty much it), and having more high-end complicated consoles won't help the barriers of entry.

I'll probably have both eventually in the next yr or so just because. I might even wait till the first price drop...neither one seems worth it tbh.The PlayStation controller is interesting, but we'll see if they even do anything with it. My PC is out dueling both of these machines. I used to be a day one console guy, but I don't really see the need at this point & feel like there isn't any day 1 big titles out there for either system. Monster PC for me!

No option for this so I just picked Xbox Series X as my wife was lucky when refreshing Amazon page and preordered me one, it actually came on Nov 14th so I was lucky to not be one of those getting it at the end of December like Amazon was sending out emails for.

But I also have a monster PC so I basically got the XSX because I wanted to play next gen sports and racing games on it and some of the games I prefer to play from my couch with controller when I get tired of sitting in front of my PC all day for work and so on.

Went from Atari to NES to Sega to 32x to PS1 to PS2 to Xbox360 to PS4 and now to Xbox Series X. But have been a PC Gamer for the whole time from IBM XT to C64 to PC gaming over 25+ years....

So far so good, I'll probably get a PS5 but the Xbox Game Pass is pretty sweet.
