Sports Emulation in 2022 - Going Beyond Emulation

What an awesome article! As an older Gen X gamer of many genres not just sports I always love the creativity that comes from community. Especially since sports videogaming (starting with the WWNFL's, EA & Madden '06 exclusive deal that seems to neverend) has become so myopically geared towards WAAAYYYY overpriced product/games that are not even ready for the classic "Day 1" release and usually take several months to "make the game" decent. Thanks to the corpofacist money greedy WWNFL/EA and the like in this current era of bad scam and run triple A patchwork gaming development...

All I know is I REALLY miss choice and the creativity progression via comepetition when it came to sports gaming. I had so many choices of football videogames in it's golden era of the early '90s to 2005. KUDOs to these community creatives for their creations. I may need to try and get into these old/NEW school football videogame emulators as they look great!

NFL 2k5 alone has gotten me pump to play football again! Just started it and already 8 games. Just realized how great running is in that game. The blocking is a breath of fresh air.

Also I saw a video of someone playing superstar mode Madden 11. I was like sheesh those graphics look bad, but then I realized it was on ps2. Superstar mode had all that stuff in it on those consoles!! So I started that up and doing Superstar mode on Madden 12 (last Madden that had all the options).

So I have 2 football games I am playing at once. I haven't done that since 2k5 and madden 05 (prices for both those together cheaper than a new game now lol). Thanks to the people doing the mods and the emulators!
