I think the most refreshing thing about CFB25 coming out is that that game will finally snap the fan boy chokehold MLB show has on this community’s game of the year voting, which pretty much wins every year. The fan boys on this sight never have anything bad to say about that game. As long as they can put the game into their system and it works, it’s basically game of the year.

The fan boys on this sight never have anything bad to say about that game. As long as they can put the game into their system and it works, it’s basically game of the year.

I think The Show just consistently hits singles in an era where sports games aren't as good as they used to be (because we're nostalgic for an era of sports games where the power of the consoles wasn't as great as our expectations were routinely met because they were lower).

You can make a very fair case for and against like 8 of these to be the best each year.

What do you think should be sports game of the year? And all the other years where The Show wins?

The Show is in a unique place because it starts with such a solid foundation. It truly is VERY, VERY GOOD, both gameplay wise and accurate depiction of simulation baseball just right off the shelf, and has been for over a decade now.

I've been playing The Show since the early PS3 days. True story: I actually bought a PS4 JUST to play The Show 14. a decade ago.
And while it's been an incredible baseball sim for all of that time, it's so sad how PRECIOUS LITTLE has changed since those early PS4 days.
Many of the same camera angles, plate approach animations, etc are literally untouched. No improvement or strides taken at all in Franchise mode, which is inexcusable to me. Heck we've been clamoring for jersey physics for the entire PS4 generation, and the jerseys still look like they did 10 years ago.

I love The Show, but they've clearly gotten lazy with implementing pretty much anything new at all. The Franchise improvements are completely inexcusable as that would require minimal effort and has been begged for by their fan base for literally a decade now, and nothing comes of it.

My vote goes to CFB, warts and all.

Baseball is my favorite sport and normally I'd vote MLBTS automatically but this year it can be nothing but CFB25. I have no idea what lies in store for CFB26 or MLBTS25 but its readily apparent to me my vote won't be handed out on autopilot for the foreseeable future.

ditto....CFB25 for me as well. we have to correct the error at the video game awards. madden will have to step up it's game with little brother on it's heels. and with rumors of a college basketball game in the works, sports game of the year will get real interesting in the near future.

I'm debating 2 games at the moment;

<b><u>MLB 24 The Show</b></u>

Yes, when you pair this against the other major sports games graphically, you'll get the same argument that they're not progressing graphically fast enough. EA Sports phased out the ignite engine in favor of Frostbite. VC uses UE5 as well as Eco-Motion engine.
What SD Studios did do was revamp the basic baseball functions game play as well as add to the Negro League stories and big league play. The Willie Mays tribute alone was a sensational and memorable experience.


<b><u>Madden 25</b></u>

I've already said it. This is the best Madden game I've played in the series. The difference between release day to now, is unbelievable. The season is going so well for me now, it reminds me when I was playing 30 years ago, but better.

For me it's College Football 25. But I will say Madden has gotten a little better this year.

I just got into The Show 24 and yeah it’s really really great.

However if I am being fair and honest it’s about CFB 25 for game of the year.

Over 500 hours of my time says so.

Tremendous game and still going.

My top 3 for 2024

1. CFB 25
2. MLB The Show 24
3. NHL 25

Cfb 25 for me. I Had to wait an decade for an College Football Game.
Runner Up is MLB the Show. I have so much fun. The ability to write ur Story in Franchise mode with Editing Players is amazing.
If NHL would have this Feature i would buy it. I dont Players conversation is an good Feature. I Like that it have No trade contract and trophy Tracking. Im fine with NHL 24.
NBA 2k Looks good. I dont understand the graphics on the floor and i cant defend. Editing and Tracking ITS the best in franshise Mode.

I have no idea how the show is ever even considered. I can go back 10yrs and see the so much of the same everything.

I deleted the game midway through the 2nd inning of my first game.
