The Minnesota Twins (12-11) snapped the Tigers (21-3) 8 game win streak with a 2-1 victory. Byron Buxton hit a 2-run home run in the 3rd inning, and the Twins pitchers made it hold up. The Tiger's lone run came on a Javier Baez RBI single in the 6th.

Jonathan Schoop hit a 2-run home run in the first, and Austin Meadows had an RBI single in the 8th, as the Tigers (22-3) beat the Twins (12-12) 4-2. Michael Pineda went 6 innings against his former team, earning the win.

Box Score

Tucker Barnhart hit a 3 run home run, and Robby Grossman, Spencer Torkelson, and Miguel Cabrera also homered for the Tigers (23-3) as they beat the Twins 7-2. Javier Baez had an RBI single. Eduardo Rodriguez went 6 innings allowing 2 runs, earning his 5th win of the season.

Baddoo struggling
After a promising rookie season, Akil Baddoo is off to a horrendous start to the 2022 season. In 20 games, Baddo has hit just .180 with 1 home run and 1 RBI. With Rookie CF Riley Greene nearing a rehab assignment, Baddoo could find himself the odd man out of the Tiger's outfield rotation upon Greene's return.

TORKELSON THRIVING
Spencer Torkelson has been thriving thus far in 2022. Torkelson is hitting .333 with 8 doubles, 5 home runs and 12 RBI.

BAEZ MORE PATIENT
Shortstop Javier Baez has been much more patient at the plate. Baez walked just 28 times in 546 plate appearances in 2021 (5.1%). So far in 2022, he has walked 13 times in 111 plate appearances (11.7%) over twice his rate of last season. This has resulted in him swinging at better pitches, leading to a .354 average, 8 HR, and 21 RBI.

RESURGENT CABRERA
After 5 straight average seasons, Miguel Cabrera is off to a really good start. Cabrera appears 100% healthy, and it shows, as he is driving the ball again. Cabrera has 6 home runs and 24 RBI in 26 games, hitting .305.

CAN'T SHAKE CHICAGO
Despite the hot start, the Tigers just cannot distance themselves from the second place White Sox. Since dropping the first two games of a three game series to Detroit, the Sox have won 17 of their last 18 games, and are only 1.5 games back of the Tigers.
