Just a day after pounding the Yankees for 13 runs and 16 hits, the Tigers on Monday night managed just 5 hits against Yankee pitching. But they made them count, earning a 2-1 victory for a 2-0 lead in the American League Championship Series. Miguel Cabrera and Jonathon Schoop hit solo home runs, and Tarik Skubal, Lucas Sims, and Gregory Soto made it stand up. Skubal went 8 innings, allowing just 5 hits, and 1 earned run, striking out 11. Lucas Sims and Gregory Soto combined for a scoreless 9th.
