The Tigers took game one, 4-1. Jack Flaherty (11-2) allowed one run in eight innings, to earn the win. Kyle Dutcher led off the game with his 34th home run of the season. Riley Greene had a pair of RBI.
The Blue Jays evened up the series with a 4-3 win over the Tigers. Matt Manning (11-3) took the loss, allowing four runs in six innings. Alek Manoah (5-5) picked up the win for the Blue Jays, allowing three runs in six innings.
The Tigers won game three 5-3, to take the series. Kyle Dutcher (35) and Jose Agua (20) homered. Agua drove in three runs. Casey Mize (12-3) allowed two runs over six innings, to earn the win.
Prior to Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, the Tigers announced that they have acquired former Tiger Justin Verlander from the Houston Astros, in exchange for prospect Wilmer Flores (6-9, 4.22 at Toledo), as well as a pair of infield prospects in 3B Max Anderson, and 2B Luke Gold.
In 20 starts with the Astros, Verlander was 8-5 with a 3.67 ERA. Verlander is set to start on Tuesday in Cleveland.
