Unstoppable Lions bury Cowboys, move to 13-0
By [Writer Name], Detroit Free Press

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions’ dream season rolled on under the primetime lights at Ford Field. Behind three touchdown grabs from Amon-Ra St. Brown, another 100-yard night from Jahmyr Gibbs, and a punishing ground game, the Lions throttled the Dallas Cowboys 41-23 Thursday night to improve to 13-0.

Detroit never trailed and never let Dallas get closer than four points. After the Cowboys trimmed the lead to 7-3 in the first quarter, the Lions erupted for 24 points in the second, turning the game into a showcase of offensive balance and precision. Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes — all to St. Brown — and Jake Bates drilled a 31-yard field goal just before halftime to make it 31-10.

“That’s the response you want to see,” head coach Dan Campbell said. “We knew Dallas was physical, we knew they’d test us, but our guys dictated the tempo. Offense, defense, special teams — everybody had a hand in this win.”

St. Brown finished with 11 catches for 86 yards and three scores, continuing his All-Pro caliber season. Gibbs churned out 128 yards on 23 carries with a short touchdown plunge, while David Montgomery slammed the door with 126 yards on the ground and a late 6-yard score that pushed Detroit to 41 points.

The Cowboys fought back in the second half behind Dak Prescott’s 300 passing yards and tight end Jake Ferguson’s 83-yard night, but their offense was held to just one touchdown after the break. Alex Anzalone’s interception in the third quarter stalled Dallas’ best chance at a rally.

Detroit piled up 534 yards of offense, including a bruising 254 on the ground. The Lions also controlled time of possession for more than 33 minutes and converted both of their fourth-down tries to keep drives alive.

“This is who we are,” St. Brown said. “Tough, physical, relentless. Every week we get tested, and every week we answer.”

With the win, the Lions remain the NFL’s only undefeated team at 13-0 and continue to inch closer to clinching the NFC’s top seed.

Next up: a 4:25 p.m. trip to Los Angeles for a high-profile showdown with the 9-4 Rams. Dallas (8-5) returns home to face the Minnesota Vikings.

Dan Campbell storms into the locker room, sweat still dripping, voice booming:

“HELL YEAH, MEN! That’s how you defend this house! That’s how you play Detroit football! You don’t let anybody come in here and bully you, not Dallas, not anybody!

We ran it down their throats—two backs over a hundred! Gibbs, Monty—you boys kept hammerin’, hammerin’, hammerin’. That’s what toughness looks like!

Jared—steady as hell, stood in there, took shots, delivered three touchdowns. Ice in your veins, brother. And Amon-Ra—‘Sun God’—you OWNED that damn end zone tonight. Three touchdowns, three! You set the tone, you finished the fight.

Defense—you bent a couple times, but you never broke. Anzalone, Branch, Jack Campbell—you swarmed, you hunted, you took the damn ball away. That’s how we do it.

Now—GAME BALLS.

First one—Jared Goff. Led this offense, spread it around, and kept us on schedule. That’s leadership.

Second—Amon-Ra St. Brown. Eleven catches, three trips to the promised land. You’re a tone-setter, a warrior.

Third—Jahmyr Gibbs. 128 yards on the ground, dagger runs all night. That’s big-time, man.

But make no mistake—this was ALL OF US. From the O-line keeping Micah Parsons quiet, to special teams doing their job, to everybody finishing their assignment. That’s why we’re 13-0.

Now, listen—celebrate tonight, enjoy it. But next week? We go to L.A. Rams, 9-4, they’ll be foaming at the mouth to take us down. Nobody gives us a damn thing, we EARN every inch. We keep stacking, we keep biting.

Lions on three—1, 2, 3—LIONS!

Dan Campbell Postgame Press Conference – Lions 41, Cowboys 23

Opening Statement:
“Man… that’s a hell of a win. Short week, primetime, and against a damn good football team. Dallas is physical, they’re aggressive, and our guys didn’t blink. We controlled the line of scrimmage, we ran the ball right at ‘em, and Jared was sharp. Defense made stops when it mattered. That’s what complementary football looks like, fellas.”

Reporter 1: You guys put up 534 yards of offense and dominated time of possession. How much of that was scheme versus simply imposing your will?
Campbell: “You can draw up all the plays you want—the real test is when bodies start falling, and that’s where our O-line, Gibbs, and Monty shined. They were physical, ran hard, broke tackles. That’s Detroit football. Credit to our offensive staff for the plan—but the execution came down to toughness.”

Reporter 2: Amon-Ra St. Brown with three touchdowns—again clutch. How do you evaluate his impact?
Campbell: “He’s more than a stat line. Blocks in the run game, runs routes with precision, makes the tough grabs. That guy’s a leader. Jared trusts him in the trenches—that’s why he delivers every night.”

Reporter 3: Defensively, Dallas had some drives, but you never let them break rhythm. Thoughts on that side of the ball?
Campbell: “Yeah, Dak and Ferguson had their moments, but we made them earn everything. Credit Kelvin Sheppard and our defense for staying disciplined. Alex Anzalone’s pick was massive, and Branch, Jack Campbell—they flew around. We bent a bit—but fought hard.”

Reporter 4: You’re now 13-0. Talk about staying grounded heading into the Rams next week. How do you keep the edge?
Campbell: “Honestly, we haven't done a damn thing yet. We’re 13-0, but the Rams don’t care about that record—they’re 9-4, at home, and hungry. We win one at a time. That’s the mentality here.”

Reporter 5: Kicking was perfect tonight—Jake Bates with a field goal and all PATs. How vital is that stability?
Campbell: “Huge. When your kicker’s reliable, you coach with confidence. Bates has been consistent, and he gives us peace of mind.”

Reporter 6: Micah Parsons went quiet tonight—how did you scheme against him?
Campbell: “That was a focus. Our line from Decker to Sewell—and Ben Johnson’s group—did their homework. They accounted for him every snap. You don’t let elite players wreck you—not in this league.”

Closing:
“Short week, national stage, everybody leaned in—and our guys delivered. That’s Lions football. Now, it’s on to L.A.”
