Here we go again, everyone! Another year for the roster project! I want to personally thank each and every one of you who showed your support the past few years. Last year, our thread had over 117,000 views, and was the second most downloaded roster for Madden 17! It truly means a lot to me. Now, onto the business at hand...

Tomorrow morning, I will be picking up Madden 18 at my local Best Buy and immedaitely getting started on the roster project with EA's roster as a base. This year's roster is going to be more special than ever, and here's why: I am working with a new partner, and he is none other than TheGame8544. If you have never heard of him, he's is known around these forums for his MLB The Show Ratings Calculator. It gives me great pleasure to announce that we have teamed up to create a NEW ratings calculator for Madden 18, as well as future Madden roster projects beyond this year! I couldn't be more honored to welcome TheGame8544 to the roster project, as he has a great knowledge of the game, so his input will make this project better than ever.

If you're looking for updated rosters throughout the year, download the SIMFOOTBALLOS roster! I update it daily, including transactions, depth chart edits, removing IR'd players from depth charts, and creating any new players that get signed.

Yeah though injuries might be a pain in the *** later, chances are I will rebuild the roster every 4-6 weeks with EA's latest roster, so if a guy gets IR'd midseason, that will end up being accurate. I wish we could just manually edit injuries, but oh well. In the end, it'll make the roster more accurate. Last year, it was a pain having Bradford on the Vikings with Bridgewater on the bench. Now, Jay Cutler will start for the Dolphins 100% of the time because Tannehill will be on the IR.

Yea I like starting my CFM with the accurate opening weekend rosters as well.

This sounds great! I'm really looking forward to how your roster will turn out with the addition of the ratings calculator. I have two questions:

Will the ratings line up with the generated rookie ratings well enough to use for multiple season franchises or will the scale be so different that its best to use them only for single seasons?

Also, I know its difficult to estimate, but do you have a general idea or how long it will take you to finish Version 2 after the EA opening day rosters are released? If you can't estimate that its fine. I just figured maybe based off of experience you might be able to say it generally takes about 2 weeks or 4-6 weeks or something like that.

The ratings will perfectly mesh with draft classes. No issue there!

And I can't really say. I haven't done a ratings rehaul for Madden before, so I can't speak from experience. If I had to guess, I would say a week tops.
