Then, when you're ready to start the game, with your second controller on the screen where you choose playbooks etc, go to offensive and defensive edited playbooks and assign them to the cpu. And you're done.

Don't worry, when the game starts you'll playing the cpu because you turned off instant starter and full control.

Thabks for this info. I didn’t have to create a player, the user controlled teams are set to owners only and that still allows me to select the playbook for the cpu at the beginning of the game. I do have a question. Is it possible to transfer playbooks from one local account to another? I want to create custom play books for each team with my main user account, and then copy it over to the secondary account. But I can’t figure out how to do it. I tried uploading a custom playbook to the EA servers, and then downloading on my secondary account which worked, but the playbook was bugged and the offense didn’t show up on the field! Any help is appreciated.

I believe you can accomplish the second controller trick without even creating a second profile. That used to be the case in the past, but now you can create playbooks on your profile and still give it to the CPU.

By the way can you please explain, how you can still select a playbook for the CPU when teams are set to owners? I haven't seen that it's possible to use created playbooks without becoming a player.

How do you do this? When I connect the second controller I have to log in to another PS user account which has it's own profile. I can move that controller to either side but it only has access to the customs playbooks on that profile, not my main user profile.

Franchise Settings > League Settings > League Type > Owners Only
Then create the user teams as you would normally, the only option will be as owner since it is an owner league. When I go to play a game and use a second controller it allows me to choose custom playbooks, but like I said before they have to be created under the second user profile. Otherwise you won't see them. I haven't tried it as a player or coach, but I would assume that they work the same when playing a season game.

So I just realized when I do this with an owner controlled team using the two controller trick and moving the controller back to the middle after selecting the custom playbook, the team does not show up on the field when you switch to slow sim the game. It does work for changing to the default playbooks though.

Yes it’s been the same for several years now. After selecting a custom playbook with a second controller then moving it back to the middle, the 2nd team never shows up in game. That’s pretty crap, coz being able to select custom playbooks for each team would be a game changer!

I have XSX so i'm not sure if it works on the P5. But on Xbox it works whether you create a second profile or not.
