Why has the support for this game been so bad?

I picked up an Series X earlier this year and while I am not home as much, I was very excited to play this game.

But there is no Dynamic Audio, the roster updates are subpar, a lot of gameplay issues from launch are still present, and do not get me started on Franchise Mode.

At this point, I feel cheated out of $70. And I wish that things were different. It is 2022, we as fans should not be here clamoring for features from Madden Games that came out 18 years ago.

Why can't we do Position Drills? Where is the NFL Network Integration? They can't get some big name podcaster to do an in-game radio show? Where is the education on the game of football? What are we doing here?

I hope Madden 24 is a step-up, because it needs to be.

Why has the support for this game been so bad?

Madden 23 has seen a significant title update literally every month since it released, and new game content has appeared in the game literally every single week.

I challenge you to find a game with more consistent support? I doubt Madden is the pinnacle of video games in this area, but I will argue that the cadence of post-release support for this series is currently and historically has been pretty damn consistent.

This doesn’t mean the bugs which remain aren’t annoying and shouldn’t be fixed.

part of support is COMMUNICATION and they have done an awful job at it.

Lack of communication... Severe bugs that hamper all game modes... Lack of Depth of features/customization compared to other sports games (and past madden games)

Really am enjoying the gameplay this year but the other stuff has continued to hurt it's reputation among the sim community

Exactly. The support for the game has been atrocious in every aspect. Doing “updates” that do nothing to solve the problems people actually have is laughable

Maybe resource reallocation for another football game.

What value have their significant title updates actually added though? All of the main modes still have the same issues that have plagued them since launch. The updates haven't fixed anything major, they haven't added anything major. What is their benefit other than hitting a checkbox that says, "we updated the game twice"?

Consistently delivering title updates with minimal value isn't something praiseworthy.

Re: Why has the support for this game been so bad?

Interception slider bug would like a word.

Having said that, the game should have never come out that

way, especially being touted as being polished for bugs.

Also, I get it about the lack of communication, but at the very least,

they broke that mode up with communication a few weeks ago.

And, I am assuming, since today is Thursday, something is coming to

                the servers:

Server Maintenance is scheduled for 6:00 AM ET tomorrow, Thursday, November 3rd.

All online modes will be offline until maintenance is complete.

Solo Battles will be gated at 5:30 AM ET.

Please complete all games before maintenance begins.

Also, let's not forget something we learned a long time ago that the Madden

team does not communicate when a title update is coming out. The reason has
                ]
been if that date comes and goes, you will have Madden nation,(Reddit, Twitter, OS

and any other social media) raging mad.

I would like to think that communication from a few weeks ago was to give

at least a guideline/timeframe of what's being worked on and potentially when.

And people have the right to complain until they can play the game again. I am in the

same boat as some other OSer's, I haven't had one crash in offline FM.

Edit-Doesn't seem like the server maintenance was tied into a title update. Dang EA

Why is the support for Madden evolved into its current state?

Answer: Because Madden has become to big to fail. And it has. Its not even that the support is "bad" as much at its become stretched too thin with trying to satisfy sim players, arcade players, and stick skills players. Less is more. If the NFL would bust up the monopoly Madden has become, let EA narrow its focus and hire another videogamecompany to concentrate on maybe an arcade modefootball game, Madden would actually benefit with the ability to narrow its scope to whatit does well. I think Madden would be better for it, as well asthe consumers, the NFL and another video game maker. A Win-Win-Win-Win.

For reasons that never really made sense to me, word is that the NFL is the one who wanted the "monopoly." The reason I say that it doesn't make much sense is because is because the more licenses that are out there, the more EA gets paid. EA doesn't have to worry about their product being given a bad image because EA supposedly has the final say of what goes in the game.

I can't speak for NBA2K and their community, but having so many "Fixes" on a week to week basis (game fixes not franchise glitches that make it unplayable) shows just how flawed the game is from the beginning, no? Not exactly something to be commended on.

                          1 - elaboration is good

2 - in my post I made it clear I didn't think Madden was at the cutting edge, just that their actual post-release support efforts are actually consistent and at least pretty good. I am pretty sure most games don't get new content every week and a new title update every month.

You tell me, I see plenty of valuable stuff in here:

The progress impeding bugs which are still present still suck, and they are the main reason I am not playing Madden 23 at the moment. That allowed, I am entirely capable of separating my evaluation of the post-release support effort from outstanding issues.

I am hopeful that those progress-impeding bugs get addressed in this month's (presumed) title update.

You could be right, but the way I look at it, if the fixes are improving "my"

gameplay experience along the way, I am content with that, especially since

the interception slider has been fixed.

My game play experience has improved since launch and since the interception slider.

What doesn't make me content is having the game unplayable for others,

                              no excuse for that.

I encourage others to speak about not being able to play the game.
