    Master Trade Negotiator Trait

Has anybody noticed a tangible difference after purchasing the Master Trade Negotiator trait for your coach? The description says "increases interest in your players", but I've noticed zero change. I was shopping around an 88 overall DE (25 years old), and the interest level for the various teams remained exactly the same.

I also haven't gotten any better offers from my "on the block" players, and I offered JJ Watt (99 overall, year 1 so still in his prime) for a 1st round pick, and nobody would take that deal.

So I was wondering if there were thoughts on whether the Master Trade Negotiator trait is worth it for the coach. My initial experiences are that it is not, but wanted to see if anyone else has had a different experience.

I have noticed a difference in certain trades, moving up to the 2nd round could cost a 3rd and a 4th, sometimes I get it for a 3rd and a 5th and 6th. Its only speculation but I feel it has more of a noticeable difference with the small trades, the blockbuster trades are always going to be a lot harder (like 1st round picks, franchise players etc).

I think it does make a difference, especially with trades like Geodude mentioned above.

As for the lack of interest in Watt, the CPU seems to have a strange way of valuing players... Surprisingly to me (that EA would make this important to AI), the contract your player is signed on seems to matter a lot. Watt is on a huge contract, and the CPU just sees a 99 OVR player with one of the biggest contracts in the league, and figures it's a wash. Same thing happened to my friend when he signed Leveon Bell to a big contract. He only got a 2nd round pick. It could also be that the CPU just shies away in general from making blockbuster trades, but I've also seen it with when I try to offer mid-low-80s solid contributors to the block with mediocre contracts and the CPU doesn't bite.

I have never seen the CPU offer a first round pick for any player, however if you add a silly pick to a team interested on the trade block you can rape the CPU... which is ********. A buddy in my league just traded Terrell Suggs (in the second year of our league 33YO) and a 4th round pick for a first and second this year and a first next year.

I get offered first round picks in online CFM for allot of my drafted players. Some QBs I snag in the 4th round and a bunch of teams offer 1st round picks.

In my experience, the trait isn't going to make a team willing to give up more than what has been programmed to be fair value for a player, but what it does is make some teams more willing to talk. In this year (and last year's) versions of the game, I've had a fair amount of success trading away my own players, but if a guy isn't on the block, the CPU is really hesitant to move him.

Just last night, I made a trade for TE Maxx Williams of the Ravens during the 2017. I needed a TE, and he's 81 OVR and only 22 years old. However, he's third on their depth chart behind a rookie starter and Pitta, so I thought they may be open to moving him. After some back and forth, I eventually gave them a 3rd, a 4th and a 79OVR WR in the final year of his rookie deal and we made the trade.

key thing ive found is position in depth chart, what they are being paid compared to others in that position, when in the year it is. ie thats how you can get a certain de very early from the jets, the logic doesnt take in sub packages or cover.
