my biggest concern is the constant freezing; save games being one, freezing in depth chart in game is another (that was a prior bug) and freezing in roster chaning position. there are others. or is it just me?

Repeat bugs from prior versions
working my way through glitches/bugs thread and it backs up my experience since last thurs when i got the game. bugs that appeared in prior versions, not just 16, have reappeared en masse in m17. these are bugs that may have been fixed in patches but it seems code may have carried over and not been spotted.

You know, I keep seeing people say that madden has all these bugs, but I honestly haven't seen that many at all.

The wind arrow points the wrong way when kicking FG's and XP's.
It pointed backwards from Madden 12 through Madden 15 (3 years!)
It was finally fixed in Madden 16.
Suddenly this year the same problem is back.Comment

every single play there's the run/pass tell bug...impossible not to notice unless you press absolutely nothing until the ball is snappedComment

Every single Madden with CFM has had the CPU coach player scheme bug!!!!! It's so fricking annoying and I mention it every year!
Basically where a new CPU coach will change the defensive scheme but not the player archetypes it wants...Comment

Re: Repeat bugs from prior versions
2 things you can do until it's patched:
1) Turn off player names. This will keep you from knowing if it's run/pass when you look at the play art on defense.
2) If you don't want to turn off player names, you can press the right thumbstick to the right. This will show you your gap assignments, so you can kind of get a sense of where to move on defense.
Or you can just remember what defensive play you called, and remember what the player you control is supposed to do.
Of course, none of this matters for online play, just offline solo.Comment

Basically if a CPU coach gets fired at end of season, and a new one gets hired for the CPU team. That newly hired coach brings his own scheme with him but he doesn't change the player archtype with it so he's using a completely different scheme than what his playerbase is.Comment

Ah OK. You mean the player archetype for each position. (IE "big mauler" or "power back" etc.)Basically if a CPU coach gets fired at end of season, and a new one gets hired for the CPU team. That newly hired coach brings his own scheme with him but he doesn't change the player archtype with it so he's using a completely different scheme than what his playerbase is.
Those archetypes don't actually affect the players skills on the field. All changing an archetype does is change which skills are factored into their overall. It doesn't ACTUALLY change their overall or individual skills it just changes how the overall APPEARS for your team specifically.
So basically, it doesn't matter if the CPU never changes archetype. It's just meant to be a tool for you to gauge a players overall for that type.
Hope that makes sense. That's why EA never fixes it, because there ain't actually a glitch.Comment
