Re: Madden 18 Review

This is about what I expected from the reviews. Longshot will buy Madden a ton of praise, and having played through the beginning of it I can understand why.

What we have to realize though, is we (the OS community) view the game completely different than most of the people who will be reviewing it. There is no right or wrong way to review Madden either, everyone has a different opinion of where the game should be and what the game is. At the end of the day though that's a review really is just one or two people's opinion on something.

Pains me to see these reviews acknowledge the deficiencies with Franchise Mode, yet still hand out 9/10's, especially Kat Bailey, who has been one of the more vocal media members about Owner Mode being in a sad state. It is what it is, though.

Re: Madden 18 Review

Another issue I have with reviews that are saying things like "its the best sports game of all-time", is that Rex, Clint, John White and other EA suits see this and they're like "wow our game is amazing, looks like we don't need to do much else other than tweaks".

Next thing you know, we have QB AI awareness still not fixed, the play challenge system still not fixed, intentional grounding hasn't been called since the stone age, and CFM gets very little to no overhaul or updates.

This is the state of the issue. Like I said before, I'm all for reviewers and people having an opinion but don't stand there and tell me this game is the best sports game of all-time. Say it's much improved. Say it's awesome and you really like it.

Saying it's the best of all-time is like saying the Cleveland Browns are the best NFL team in the league right now. It's your opinion yes, but it's ridiculous. Bottom line.

Plus, a lot of people do choose to purchase games based on their reviews. 85-90% on metacritic ... or heck even a 9/10 on IGN will get the non-football fans interested.

Re: Madden 18 Review

Maybe it's the best sports game they ever played or reviewed, ya know?

There is a difference, enough of a difference to not get that cranked up about it.

Road, I understand where you're coming from. I just know where this ends up.

Let's put it this way, besides CFM, I don't think the current development rest on their laurels like you appear to think.
