    Goaline/inches to go

Just curious what some of your best plays are in short yardage situations I play all madden and we all know the cpu know exactly what youre going to call, so running with my HB is going to fail 9/10. QB sneak doesnt work anymore. Running with my fb is the only thing that seams to work in inches/1 yard to gain, situations.

in the red zone i mainly score on the pass. sometimes I will get lucky and score on a toss but again you literally cant score running up the middle. Slants and play actions is all i really can do.

    Re: Goaline/inches to go

For inches/short I usually do a fullback dive or an iso.

On the goal line, however, running up the gut is impossible. I score maybe 10% of the time with a QB sneak or dive play. My runs are HB power or HB toss, which work a little more often but definitely hit or miss. My go-to inside the 5 is to spread it out. 5 wide in the gun and run sticks. Look for someone to open up run a draw with my QB.

QB sneak works for me a lot this year. In year past, the QB would automatically dive and sometimes his knee would go down before he got the yardage. This year the QB stands straighter and doesn't dive so I usually get it.

I've been stopped on it more often than I've succeeded. I actually got stuffed twice in a row at like the 1 inch line lol

Yes. I am also interested in knowing what works. Most of the time, my C does not have much interest in blocking the DT. Of course, what's actually happening is suction tackle takes over and the DT just warps to the ball carrier.

I Tight formation toss that can be flipped or fb dive. Every now and then I throw a slant or roll out/drag but mostly just toss or dive. I play all madden default sliders.

WR quick is money down on the goaline. Most people stack the middle and it gives you the corner. There is also a fake quick into a dive that is a nice counter when people start spreading to stop the quick.

                Re: Goaline/inches to go

HB Lead Dive/HB Toss out of I-Close, sub your TEs in for the WRs, and maybe a T for the in-line TE to get better blocking. You *must* use push the pile if you want to score on the lead dive. The toss should have a shot at getting to the edge against anything that isn't C2.

Any curl/flat play with a post route. You can high point the post and aggressive catch it, or you can low point the curl. The receiver on the post should be tall, and you may need to smart route it to ensure he doesn't go out of the back of the endzone. It's highly unlikely that the AI will have both covered, and if they do you can take the flat and try to RAC it in.

Advanced - run this to the boundary. You need to be in a formation which allows you to send the HB out on a wheel route to the boundary. Shift protection to the boundary and hot route the outer most receiver to a baby out. Put the HB on a wheel. Roll out to the boundary at the snap and you'll have a very high % low point pass to the out route. Lead the pass toward the pylon.

The above takes a little practice to get down, but once you do it's pretty solid. That set up is not mine - credit goes to the You Tuber Deuce Close.

I found something that works 9/9.5 times. I call a inside zone from a shotgun formation. The cpu will still call a goalline defense, and with your receivers free from coverage, just audible into a quick pass play and get six easy points. It’s super cheesy, but it works.

                    Re: Goaline/inches to go

Yeah, I think the normal instinct is to run something up the middle like iso. But, as u mention, it gets stuffed a lot. I’ve recently been running really well. I have slightly adjusted sliders, but nothing to boost my running, I’ve just gotten better at reading/seeing holes open up quickly. I tend to run goalline power O or goaline toss. I’ve been throwing some fades to Julio lately and I like to either come out looking to fade Julio and if the D is not bunched up the middle, I audible to a run and Vice versa.

But, even if u run an iso, I’d say, in general, simply do not expect to run the ball as designed. That’s my best advice for running any short yardage run. I often tend to see the blocks happening on an iso in a fashion that bouncing left tends to work. But, again, in general, u really have to watch the center and guard and whether they get blown up or not and adjust accordingly.

On a power O, you’re looking for that last block. Does the defender go wide or stay inside if wide, go underneath untouched through the actual hole made. If he goes inside. Go wide and sprint untouched to the pylon.

Freeman has around 20 TDs on the ground for me in season 2 of CFM and my goalline running has been a major part of that. I think, also, I vary my run calling tbroughout the game. So, maybe, on a drive, I’m running a lot of inside runs. When I get to the goaline, it’s time to change it up and toss sweep. This can often be another untouched play. But, if I’ve been running outside, I’ll run the iso or power O.

For passing, the stick plays work well. I have Julio on the slant and I often high throw to him just to be even more safe.

From the 1yd line and closer, SB Ace HB Dive works well for me. From the 1 to the 3 some kind of I Form toss. For passing, SB Bunch Spacing.

The fullbacks in the game tend to suck. I have a 312 pound converted left tackle. He is stronger, faster and has better impact and lead blocking than the fullback i had did. He even caught a td for me running an angle when the te drug the defense to the back of the end zone. His break tackle and trucking are awful low though.

Thank you all for the great responses. The fade does work sometimes but I use the brown and baker isnt good at throwing the fade lol so with THIS team, it doesnt work. but the zone run out of shotgun and audibling is probably what has worked and continue to work for me.

Yup. Pretty much a glitch touchdown. If I absolutely want to score I just call a 2 WR, 2 TE formation inside zone run. Audible to slants and switch to max protection so the TEs and RB blocks giving a little more time. Since goalline defense has the safeties playing corner your receivers tend to beat coverage quickly. I try not to run it though unless its a must score drive. It's pretty much a sure touchdown.

I have had some dives work. G-Power works better than regular power but on all-madden, it's almost impossible to score rushing from inside the 4 yard line.

Last year in madden I could come up with plenty of plays I used in the red zone to score but, this year I been having trouble scoring. I have found when on the goal line that HB toss works well if in the goal line formation.

Passing is a bit difficult, the linebackers will swat my pass down all the time
