They put in some nice work here IMO.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Is this only for sim mode? Bc it’s honestly something i can see the competitive crowd whining about loud enough to get changed.Comment

Re: Gridiron Notes June 21 QB Throwing Styles
I think this from the article will make the competitive community quite happy, actually:Regarding in-game impact, we wanted to create different tiers of QB play to try and replicate the best versus the rest. First, we revisited our Short passes. In previous years, there were two generic short throw animations, that had a 50/50 chance of being used. However, the biggest pain point around these animations was they were different speeds from button press to ball release. Obviously, it can be frustrating not knowing what animation you will trigger in such a timing-based game, so for Madden 20, we took these animations and made them the same speed for all generic passing types.Comment

Re: Gridiron Notes June 21 QB Throwing Styles
They wanted to get this out there to explain why things were working the way that they were in the Beta with QBs throwing animations and Andre also mentions that they are looking into cases that may have been causing longer throwing times. He said that the animation on short throws definitely isn’t slow and is roughly the same throw speed as last year. He said that they felt a need to relay this information because the differences on directional and distance throws may be a little jarring so they wanted to be as specific and thorough in their explanation as possible to avoid confusion and speculation.

A lot of the casual crowd was complaining about this during the beta so it's good that they got this article out there. I think that is a sign that they won't be changing it. It was one of the coolest things in the beta seeing this in action on deep throws.Comment

Gridiron Notes June 21 QB Throwing Styles
Simfballcritic said on his show Thursday that he has been told one of the “suits” over Madden that didn’t really care about simulation has moved on and that we can expect this game to continue to go along more of a simulation and Franchise Mode focused path from now on. I hope this is true because it’s the people above the development team that were holding this game back as far as becoming more simulation and realism oriented, they mainly cared about sales and back of the box features. I think we’ll know pretty quickly once the game is released, if they are sticking to their guns and keeping the pass rush and QB throwing animations like they were in the beta.

Re: Gridiron Notes June 21 QB Throwing Styles
I'll believe it when I see it. How many suits are there that dictate the direction? Not changing the sim aspects of the game this year will be step one. Focusing on franchise and sim gameplay next year is when we can really judge them. I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of resources will still be used to cater towards the competitive and MUT crowds.
The resources weren’t this year. Unless you consider Face Of The Franchise and Superstar X Factor Abilities catering to them, I don’t at all, especially after playing the beta.

Re: Gridiron Notes June 21 QB Throwing Styles
I'm not saying every single resource is going to those crowds, but I think it is safe to say over the years that the competitive and MUT crowds get a lot more resources in their areas of the game than the offline gamer does. The offline aspects of madden progress at a very slow pace. All I wish is that franchise got the same treatment that MUT and comp gets. The second those users cry about anything EA is on it. We've been asking for so many things for years in franchise mode and we get one or two additions per year. We're supposed to have a team for each area of the game, but I'm starting to believe the franchise team doesn't really exist or is just Josh Looman sitting in a room by himself.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Is Josh Looman even working on Madden anymore?
