Your buddy either a) never played 2k5 or b) didn't watch the "shows" during the Madden 10 game......2k5 still owns Madden in the presentation at least one more year.

in game presentation includes halftime show and pregame/postgame right? from what I saw, its eather extremely close or madden is still behind 2k5. time will tell though as its destined to go one way or the other.

Well tell your so called fan that there is a game speed slider now. If he thought the game speed was to slow he can adjust it to a fast pace game of speed. But over all I am glad to see he enjoyed madden over all. Thats why I wish people would just stop for a min and think before they complain. People need to hold their complaints until after the game is out and been played. They never know. They might be surprise how much the game is changes from 09. I am holding my judgemnt until after I have played the game myself.:wink:

Presentation

It took about 5 years, but NFL 2K5 is no longer the champion of football presentation. From the opening coin flip to the ending whistle, Madden 2010 is dripping with presentation touches to enhance up the experience. With going back to the 3 play layout for the play selection screen, you have more of an opportunity to catch these moments.

To give you a sense of the various presentation touches I saw in my two games:

• Cutaways to stadium fans
• McNabb chatting with Reid after a failed 3rd down completion with McNabb's helmet half off
• "Did you know" facts sprinkled throughout the game
• Cutaway shots with facts (Jason Campbell has just thrown his first interception of the game)
• Halftime show with video highlights and text overlays
• Stand up whistle on a gang tackles
• "Frozen" parts of the television screen on snow games.
• Chain Gang with referee using his hands to indicate the distance till the first down
• Pre-game breakdowns of match-ups per position vs breakdowns general sections (e.g. Offense, Defense, Special Teams)
• Prominent MVP callout near the end of the game
• Kickers warming up
• Field goal nets going up and down
• Etc.

I can go on and on, but the presentation touches were nice. The best thing is that none of these extras cause choppy loading sequences, and they can all be skipped with smooth fade transitions. Some of the character faces are a little janky, but it's forgivable considering the amount of players on screen.

Hmm... I think just about everything in that list was in 2K5 and a lot of them were probably done better (like the halftime show).

No you're not...you already touted this game as the BEST Madden ever, the 2k5 killer, etc....yet, YOU haven't played it yet, either....hmmmm

just my opinion but I really don't see the huge deal about 2k5... it's very cheesy and unbelievable. Sure it had it in there but I don't believe it was THAT well done.

Honestly, the only thing missing are highlights, and we could get those in a patch/DLC anyway so I don't see why people are so upset..

I don't know what they have to do besides that to make it "better" (which is subjective anyway) than 2K5

Sure the halftime show is pretty bad but you can't just ignore all the other presentation improvements which look outstanding.

did you SEE the halftime "show" video?? terrible replays of unimportant plays, and NO commentary....no sound for that matter during the plays...and the woman reading what little dialog there was was TERRIBLE...worst I've heard...even worse than Tom Hammond!

The half-time and post-game shows are what they are talking about. 2K5 still destroys Madden there, plus the commentary and the flow of the presentation. I like the improvement that I see, but PRESENTATION wise, 2K5 is still the king. Madden 10 should be pretty damn good though.
