Yeah, this is an issue that hasn't worked for YEARS, bro...it upsets me as well. I am LUCKY to get 1 or 2 an entire Season...and my Offense is 60/40 Run/Pass.

I have a rookie RG (6'4" 350) and a power house with 99 on RB Strength and he lead the league in his first season with 13.

I swear it will look like he has like 3-4 per game though.

So I'm guessing run blocking strength plays a major role in pancake block frequency? I've been wondering about this too. My first season Hines Ward actually lead my team with 8 pancakes while Maurkice Pouncey was may only offensive lineman with any pancakes (2).

          Re: Pancake blocks??

Wanted to bump b/c pancakes and TFLs are just errking me! Not enough pancakes in played games and too many tfls?

I'm currently testing these areas in the Slider thread, under Normal/AllPro/Realism thread.
Any feedback would really help get these #s fixed for played games.

The few I saw with my Tampa franchise came from the high (90+) RBS guys: Trueblood and Joseph, I believe.

Seems like it's somewhat relative too (maybe RBS vs defender STR), which explains why WR can pick them up - they probably don't have high RBS in absolute terms.

It is mostly your run bocking stats and impact as far as I can tell, and KBlover is correct - it is relative. FBs and WRs definitely get a ton of cakes when matched up against weaker opposition.

it's been broken for years in both of EA's football games

unless you really need to micro manange every single stat i wouldn't worry about it because it doesn't effect gameplay or determine any outcomes...

i've never stressed out over broken EA features not worth the time

It used to really bother me because my o-linemen wouldn't develop properly, but now that I can edit players I can just do the progression myself

that's one way of doing it....

i stopped worrying about pancake blocks because they do occur in the game but the stats never record them so you will basically spend months testing sliders to get pancakes and it'll never work because the game doesn't record them correctly

it's a program flaw and there's nothing you can do about it...only EA can correct the problem

the next time you play watch a replay and you'll see a few pancake blocks but then when you go to the stats it won't record it

That's why i don't even waiste time trying to make it perfect...Madden 13 will be out by that time LOL!

Yeah, its always been a Madden flaw. Just edit them I guess.

I'm done w/ my testing w/ pancakes too. I love how much difference in play calling w/ CPU w/ these adjusted Coaching schemes. Dpp is very noticeable in franchise games too. These are getting some pretty good reviews after all the testing.

                            Re: Pancake blocks??

I recently figured out that going "aggressive" with your line adjustments on running plays highly increases your chances of seeing and registering pancake blocks--especially for those defenders who are double-teamed.

When I do this, I see 1-3 pancake blocks per game.
