Why Will Next Gen Be Different?

It seems people are holding out hope for this game on the next gen systems but I don't understand why. The game was unplayable the first few iterations of this gen. Nothing EA does leaves me with much optimism.

EA said that they have learned from Madden 06 and I'm hoping that they are telling the truth.

I believe they were only talking about making sure all of the features were included. That doesn't mean the features will work. Or that the defense will be able to make some stops

It won't be much different from this version at all. I'm not even buying a next gen system until next year when better games come out. Launch titles are usually poor.

EA has done nothing to earn my trust the last 2 years.

I actually don't hate the game. I'm just disappointed in it. It has potential but there are glaring holes that I have issue with. Sim stats may not mean much to some people but when one-third of the qb's have a cmp pct less 50% even non stat geeks have to be annoyed. And that is just one thing among many.

When the game moved from last gen to this gen I thought there was a huge dropoff in the game for a few years. I'm just hoping the same thing doesn't happen.

I've actually heard that even EA admits the transfer and this gen in general were bad. I, for one, am holding out hope that means they're gonna try to keep ppl around and win back those lost from this gen. I agree that there are glaring holes in this game, but you have to admit that this year is a step in the right direction. This is actually going to mark the first time in several years that I hold onto Madden longer than NCAA.

What gives us a little hope is that Cam Webber was brought in to head up a second team to work on the next gen Madden. The next gen was not worked on by the current gen team. Plus Cam came from The Show team which built up MLB the Show game all these years. Cam knows what he is doing and all. Yes I know this EA still. But Cam and his team. I got a little hope that this will turn things around for next gen. Please EA has done admitted they made a mistake with current gen and learning from it. But whether that hold true or not is still up in the air. Will next gen be great in the first year. No I don't believe it will. But if they can improve it to little bit above the current gen version. Then it is a good sign. But if they don't then they have problems. But until there is some actual current up to date footage. I'm not going to judge it until then. Do I support EA 100%? No I don't. But next gen Madden for this year my last hope. That is why I'm holding out hope that it is going to be better the the current gen version. But again until we get actual footage up to date wise. It's hard to judge it base on current gen version and all. We just have to wait and see at this point.

No doubt. I just want a game that can finally end my love affair with APF 2k8. That's all I want from EA/Tiburon. Make me forget NFL 2k5 and APF 2k8. Until they do that every game will be a failure in my eyes.
