    Nintendo Switch Discussion

    <iframe width="620" height="349" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/f5uik5fgIaI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Nintendo has just announced the Nintendo Switch, along with this new first look trailer, scheduled to arrive in March 2017. In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles.

At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to the TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. By simply lifting Nintendo Switch from the dock, the system will instantly transition to portable mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home now travels with you. The portability of Nintendo Switch is enhanced by its bright high-definition display. It brings the full home gaming system experience with you to the park, on an airplane, in a car, or to a friend’s apartment.

Gaming springs into action by removing detachable Joy-Con controllers from either side of Nintendo Switch. One player can use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each take one; or multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options. They can easily click back into place or be slipped into a Joy-Con Grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, if preferred, the gamer can select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to use instead of the Joy-Con controllers. Furthermore, it is possible for numerous people to bring their Nintendo Switch systems together to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competition.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

This has me more pumped than PS4 Pro or Xbox Scorpio ever did.

Coming back for some Zelda, Mario, and Mario Kart action.

Preordering as soon as I can, and then I'll figure out what to do with my current collection. This has my pumped more than I have been about a console in some time.

I just want a good console to play games on (mostly Mario). - Not sure if I care for this...

Seems weird a bunch of people would be looking at a little screen playing with tiny controllers. If I get a Switch, I won't be playing like that. Hopefully them combining the 2 doesn't limit what they could have done for the big screen.

I think Nintendo faces an uphill battle with this because of the failure of the Wii U, I know I won't buy on day one until I see if this will succeed.

However, I do think this has a much better chance at succeeding since it's not even trying to compete directly with Xbox One and PS4.

What do you guys think of it?

I think that Price and 3rd Party Launch list will be the key for most. If they come through with a strong 3rd party list of games at launch and in a year or so after, people will buy it. I liked that they showed Skyrim, (despite it being an older game) and NBA 2k17. Wii U is a nice system, but their are not enough good titles and the WiiU pad screen is not the greatest.

If they can keep it at that $300 price point, it think will sell. The fact that you can take it on the go, move to the couch on a screen that looks very good in the trailer, is a dope feature.

Only Nintendo has Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Smash Bros. Anyone that grew up with these games and still love them will want to buy. And if they drop a pokemon for the system, it could help it be a game changer as well.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

The only "gimmick" this system has is that it can go mobile. That won't scare away devs like the motion controls and touchpad did. This is more of a traditional console than the Wii U by far. The only question is if they improved upon their online network. Although I don't buy Nintendo systems for 3rd party. I buy them for first party games.

I will be preordering as soon as available.

I had huge concerns about this. The rumors sounded incomplete. I couldn't grasp it.

That video switched my mind. This is exactly what I thought it should be when I first read about this.

Very intrigued. Very impressed. Very interested.

I could care less about 3rd party titles personally.

I don't buy a Nintendo for that reason, as long as the have a much better first party game list this go around, I'll buy day one.

                          Man this looks good!

                            ^ That.

What they need is for their first party game to be completely on point. If that's happening, they offer a first party experience like no other console can.
