Chris Nelson's Official MLB 2K9 (Xbox 360) Roster Update Thread

Hey guys! It's March again and that means the release of 2K's next MLB offering! It also means it's time for me to get to work on my rosters for the new MLB 2K game!

I'm pleased to announced that I will once again be doing rosters for MLB 2K9 on the Xbox 360. Once again, I'll be providing the most accurate rosters for the game, with updated major and minor league rosters, heights/weights, vitals, and so on. Yes, 2K will be doing "live" rosters this year, but I think it's safe to say mine will still be more accurate and complete, and will be the only of the two with correct named for minor leaguers!

One big change this year will be the addition of the feature 2K Share. With this feature, you'll be able to download my rosters directly through the game! Of course, those of you without Xbox Live will still be able to obtain the rosters via the transfer kit.

As always, I'll post any updates regarding the rosters here, and you can also check out ConsoleSports.net and the official roster myspace at http://www.myspace.com/chrisnelsonrosters. Feedback will also of course be welcome so if you have any requests/comments on the rosters as they come feel free to post them!

Chris 1 thing to take into consideration this year are:

    Fielding:

Speed, Range, Anticipation, Accuracy & Throwing. Since there aren't many Fielding Sliders fielders once again have super range, anticipation & strong arms.

If there is indeed a limit of number of players you can edit in terms of minor league players, then I think we should focus on editting the Top 100 Prospects (assuming they still have that in this game? it was in 2k8) and then go from there.

The problem now is I don't even want to start the full-on editing if I'm just gonna be stopped after a while.

It sounds like you'll reach the edit limit even doing just that stuff.

Yeah I guess we'll see. I was just referring to top 100 prospects. IF we can't even name 100 players, that's a shame

                Chris,
Do you or do you know anyone who ever did historical rosters for 2k8? I've seen a lot of folks doing them for NFL 2K5 but have yet seen the like for any of the major baseball games.

                  Hey Chris,
Are you thinking at this point that you may not be able to make rosters? Is it looking that bad? I'm so curious about this new edit limit. What are your findings with it so far?

Yeah to be honest if things stay the way they are with the editing limit, there's nothing I'm going to be able to do. Sorry to get your hopes up, I didn't know about this problem until after I made the thread.

I might tweak 2K's roster occasionally and add it to 2K share, but it won't really be accurate like I've put out before. I'll keep you guys updated if anything changes, but I can't imagine 2K will do anything about it since they consciously removed the editing features (I presume to force people to use their Live Rosters).

I don't understand how this could be a problem in 2009. I'd seriously like to know what the developers were thinking when they decided to implement this choice.

Sad that this one issue will make or break me buying the game but that's the reality. MVP 2005 on the PS2 might have to do....again.

anybody know how many prospect name changes or ratings edits can be made before space is used up? 50, 100 or 150?

                          So any status on this?

I am CERTAINLY not rushing at all, and am fully prepared to wait as long as it takes to get the best rosters, but I just want to know if this is still a go or not.

I want to know if I should be excited and looking forward to these rosters or if I should just start looking elsewhere.

It seems like you do good work and I hope you will continue to do the MLB 2K9 rosters.
