Tigers' Den (Home of the Detroit Tigers)

Tigers are looking real good so far. you can argue that they played the Royals and a struggling Rangers team, but I'll take 4-0 anyday. I've only been able to watch two games, and have watched the rest on ESPN Gamecast or listened Radio. The Tigers TV coverage sucks this year.

So far Bonderman and Rogers have looked strong. The youngster Zumaya will be a stud in the bullpen. Cant wait to see Verlanders season debut tomorrow, and I cant say enough about Shelton (Just jacked his 5th HR). It's the bottom of the 9th and it looks like after tonight they will be 4-0.

I'm not going to go out and say play-offs, but if they buy into Leyland this team could be dangerous. The offense is their, they just need consistent pitching and a stable bullpen ( T. Jones is injured).

SO FAR ITS FUN AGAIN TO WATCH TIGERS BASEBALL!!!!

Well Tigers had their first loss of the season. We'll see what their made off when they go home to face the White Sox tomorrow.. Man was Verlander impressive. He had a 2 hit shutout in 7 innings of work. I really think that he'll be the future ace and a top 10 pitcher....

Magglio is finally showing signs of life this year.. Looked pretty good tonight against the Angels.. Could finish the West Coast trip 7-2 and already an above .500 April for the Tigers. Also this is 8 quality starts in a row for the Tigers pitching. Lets keep it up!!

        PS Zumaya is a beast

So far I've been really impressed with the Tigers pitching staff. From the starters to the bullpen. Nate Robertson is starting to come around since his recent struggles, as is Jeremy Bonderman judging from how he pitched last night. Fernando Rodney has improved up to the point where he could regularly close anytime Todd Jones goes down. And it's going to be an added plus to have 3 lefties starting in the rotation since not many teams in general hit as well against them as they do against righties.

On a related note, there's an article posted at FOX Sports on Kenny Rogers and his impact on the young Tigers pitchers. It's a good read.

Tonights win makes them what... 17-9. The pitching has been unbelievable. Bonderman went 8 scoreless innings. Magglio is looking a little better, and Monroe is on a roll.

If the Tigers stay like this they will make a deal before the deadline.. Maybe Cabrera or D Willis??

I'd love to have Cabrera or D-Train in Detroit, if the price is right and it seems like one of them could put the Tigs over the top...but there's still a LONG way to go to see how real this team is.

I feel really good about tonights win. After Royals and the Twins we beat a good team tonight, in the Angels. The Angels I believe also swept the Tigers earlier in the season. The pitching just continues to be near perfect. I have confidence in this team, just never know if they hit a bump though. Zumaya, I cant just say enough about this young stud. Time for Verlander to shine tomorrow!

Tigers were due for a day like yesterday, but i must say I'm impressed at their start. Leyland's really got this team playing with a positive attitude. Here's to hoping the Motor City Kitties keep us caring in August and September at least

It'll be interesting to see how the team responds to this mini-slump they are currently in, losing 4 of the last 5 games. Hopefully, they can show that they are a decent team and rebound from it, rather than letting it snowball and fade away like in the past.

What I can't believe is that Guillen already has 9 errors in only 31 games. Are the injuries still bothering him or is it a matter of still being rusty from not playing much the past 2 seasons?

It was great to see the Tigers sweep the Indians for the 1st time in 16 years in Cleveland. I still can't believe how much the pitching staff has improved from when Maroth lost 20 games a few years back to the point where the staff can give quality starts nearly every day; I thought I'd never see the day.

Next up are the Twins, who the Tigers always have problems with, and the weekend Interleague matchup with Cincinnati should be interesting as well.
