    Brennan Boesch

Is it just me being a homer, or does anyone else feel that Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch deserves a bit more than what SCEA and OS custom rosters (Knight & Co.) are giving him credit for? I mean...D potential? Weak contact and power attributes?

This isn't an April flash in the pan...I mean it is almost July and he is still hitting .337 with 10 HR's, 36 RBI, 22 runs.

I am using OS V.3 rosters, in my franchise and am loving it! I am not griping or anything, but has anyone tweaked Boesch's ratings at all? From either SCEA's CAP, or OS v.3?

      LOL @ homer...

what I did was use his attributes from 2009...while with the Tigers' AA team (131 games played). He hit .275, 28 homers, 26 doubles, 7 triples and stole 11 bases.

      for contact:

      vsR 70

      vsL 65

      for power:

      pR 60

      pL 40

      bunt 2; drag bunt 2

      clutch 69

      plate vision 40

      plate discipline 33

      bra 60
      agg 20

      works out fine for me...

I know some of you are aghast in horror (lmao) of having minor league attributes assigned numerically--so....

      adjust to your liking...

      later....

Ummm...yeah, I'd say he's in order for a pretty big boost.

                    Re: Brennan Boesch

Boesch definitely needs an upgrade....his numbers are comparable and his average is much better than Heywards in Atlanta. There was an article in mlive.com http://www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ss...ch_and_at.html that compared them.

Maybe he needs B potential instead of A due to his age of 25 compared to Heyward only being 20.

Boesch is the real deal and is the talk of the hometown announcers literally every night. They love to talk about how as a young lefthanded bat he hits lefties (.465) with power (3hrs, 3 triples, 4 doubles).

I believe he is actually a 'D' potential in OS Rosters unfortunately.

Yes, in OS V4 Boesch has a "D" potential. Since potential cannot be edited, the only way to change this would be to "swap" with another player. Brooks Brown is listed with "B" potential and should more rightly be "D" so I was going to edit Boesch to Brown and Brown to Boesch so Bosch would have the "B" and Brown the "D". However, I could not find a way to edit a pitcher into a position player. It would not allow me to put in any positions for the old Brooks Brown other than those which go for pitchers.

I waited until I started my franchise, then found one of the game created free agents (position player) with B potential and swapped them.

For anyone interested this is how he comes out under my ratings system.

                            Contact v. R: 72
                            Contact v. L: 92
                            Power v. R: 60
                            Power v. L: 65
                            Plate Vision: 45
                            Plate Discipline: 52

In my system 2010 stats and 2009 stats are weighted at 1.5x while 2008 is weighted 1x. Also, minor league MLE's are included 0.5x for AAA, 0.25x for AA and 0.125x for A+ anything lower than A Advanced isn't counted into the ratings.

                              Re: Brennan Boesch

Thought I would give this a little bump. I think Mr. Boesch has gone through overhauls left and right in my franchise with edits.

Has anyone found a good setup for him? Rod_Carew...your work is ALWAYS incredible, and by no means would I question your legendary CAP's, but the one you posted just seems to be a bit low for him. And InSainn's seems a bit high...He drills lefties (even being left-handed) and is currently still well over .400 against them in real life. But a 92 seems a little over the top. I used InSainn's for a bit in my franchise, and in the month of April, I was hitting over .400 with 10 HR's and 25 RBI. Ironically those are VERY close to his ACTUAL numbers last month in real life, but I can't get over the fact I almost feel like I'm cheating having the attributes that high.

                              Any updates on this kid?
