With all due respect ive been in this business of slider making for too many years now and i can tell you this...i wont be making any changes whatsoever until ive played this game exhaustively for 2/3 weeks, i guess that puts my opinion across quite well

    Good luck.

I know - I used your sliders last year and they were top notch.

That's why the first thing I said is that these sliders are very preliminary.......Just made a couple minor (1 notch) adjustments.

Re: TNKNGM MLB10 All-Star Realism Sliders

I'm not sure about fielder reaction speed going down. My first couple of games I have seen several ground balls get through the infield that I felt I should of got. It could just be my own reaction time being slow since I haven't played the game in awhile.

Another thing I am keeping an eye on is pitcher consistency. I think I threw 4 wild pitches in my first game with classic pitching. My balls/strikes ratio was good just way too many wild pitches. The CPU threw a few too many strikes.

I had to pause a great game in the 9th inning. Boston @ Kansas City.

I am going to finish it in a few minutes and will post the results.

Re: TNKNGM MLB10 All-Star Realism Sliders

That's basically how it should be done....
there no way in less than 24 hours of having the game that any sliders can honestly be fit for 'realism'...
Realism is subjective anyway, because everyone's skillset is different...sometimes to the point where NO sliders will help...

There are too many things that happen in the game when played out (as opposed to simming), that'll dictate along the way what REALLY needs to be tweaked or left alone...

The word realism reflects what I would like to achieve from these sliders......Im not saying they are going to be finished and the ultimate realism sliders 24 hours after launch.

I didn't know there were rules or books on making sliders

I didnt know it either...but it'll take some time
and 'realism' to some of those that may not play the game as well as you or I...MAY fool some...in terms of how they see things unfold

Whatever though.....no big deal.... give me some feedback

BTW - right now, I'm not going to adjust based on game results or stats.....I'm going to adjust based on feel - things like pitch speed, fielder speed, throw speed - the rest should all work itself out

Actually no...because I too, have been doing this for probably as long as he (if I go back to MVP 2005)...

Bulk does his thing and I do mine...there's never an issue there AT ALL. We do think alike in terms of letting some time unfold

I do adjest to feel too. Matter of fact, I play my entire exhibition season, and use those 30 games to define my sliders...usually I'm about 90% satisfied...

Call me old fashioned, but from the first game I play, I keep a sheet of paper and a pen nearby...and if I notice things that look or feel odd, I make a note and make the changes after the game. This is so damn time consuming...but it's the only way I have been able to play The Show...never mind the fact that me, Knight, Razr and a few others, up to this game, HAVE to do MASS editing that we all feel is neccessary....

It's gonna take me a long time to get everything set..

Re: TNKNGM MLB10 All-Star Realism Sliders

I've always kept total team stats for at least a 15-game chunk and then compare to MLB per game averages to get an idea of how I need to alter the game settings so that my skill level and style result in realistic per game outcomes (on average).

Frankly any slider set put out after 1 day or a few days is suspect ... pretty much just guessing or "going by the gut".

15 games might even be too small of a sample for a high quality slider set. But, I use it as a starting point.

Far too often, people are looking for sliders to compensate for lack of skill/experience.

I tweak a handful of sliders just 1 click either direction.....and it's a lack of skill/experience? I'm using this very slightly modified set as a baseline to play play some games to gather info to make future adjustments.

It should be interesting though considering hwo well this game plays out of the box.
