fair point and I know what you mean....but maxed out hitting sliders for the CPU on LEGEND should make them nearly impossible to contain pitching wise right?

I'm not getting involved, but the sliders are far more subtle than you think. There's more to it, but it's sort of like peeing into the wind, no offense.

I remember you saying that default legend is very tough....so MAXED out legend, should be near impossible . That's all I'm saying.

subtle or not subtle

IMO, it's more like 40% on the lowest setting. Very, very subtle difference with the sliders

Re: An experiment on CPU offensive AI and sliders.....

Just played game where all I did bunt on offense and got no hits. I was hanging at a friend's place so I did a test that had lowest interactivity possible with the game. I upped the CPU sliders and played on Legend. On the mound, all I did was aim the pitch for the middle of the plate with Carlos Zambrano using classic pitching. Zambrano is kinda wild so he threw maybe like 35% of the pitchers in the middle of the plate, he even walked a couple of batters. I threw a combination of 4-seamers, 2-seamers, cutters, and sliders all aimed down the middle. He gave up 5 runs in 7.2 innings on 14 hits. I only gave up 2 HRs in Houston with the wind blowing out to left. A 2-run HR the CPU hit was just a fly ball that the wind blew out. Just as a reference, in the 9 season games before this, the CPU has averaged 7.3 runs/game when I actually try my best to pitch, and the lowest run total I've held the CPU to is 4 runs. Before this start, Zambrano's first two outings were 4.1 innings and 4.0 innings with an ERA of 15.12. In those outings, I was actually trying to pitch. Next game, I will actually try to pitch and do noting on offense.

JIM416 is right. On All Star, I turn the CPU contact and timing down to 3 and results are good. The sliders are subtle and good...

Im not getting into this testing since im 100% satisfied with how the game is playing for me....
but i gotta say something, jim beeing right doesnt make Philly or any of the other guys that are testing this wrong, one thing is the FACT that sliders are subtle, another thing is those guys trying to find patherns on how the AI performs depending on how the game is beeing playing.

Its actually pretty interesting...

As in politics and life in general, gamers will generally find "evidence" for what they already believed before they started 'testing' ....

So I won't be too surprised by the results, if this goes ahead.
