I also noticed in the outfield I cannot see the catch region indicator if there are shadows. But I can in the corners on the dirt.
Your post has been making me think about shadows for the past 10 minutes. This is going to be a productive day at work.

Is there a ball shadow projected anywhere on the field? If the light source was directly above the object then the shadow would be cast directly below it. But in the demo the sun is setting casting a shadow from east to west. So in the case of a fly ball the shadow would be to the east or west on the field, not directly below the ball in flight.

Unless you are talking about the shading on the ball itself, then disregard my question.

My co-worker keeps laughing at me because I am holding my hand to my desk lamp.

Now again, we know it is a way early build, that this can be corrected, but for those (even devs) to say they are not seeing it in this very demo, yet there are a bunch of us who can, and swapped both version and notice it even more so... it does cause some concern.

After all, how do you fix something you dont see?
So, are you saying that it DEFINITELY has to be there, the framerate issue? That there's no way it can't because you are seeing it. Or, that we, the community guys/devs, just aren't mentioning it?

Is there a possibility that it has to do with the download somehow? Haven't there been a few guys who have posted that said they either, reset their PS3s, or did a t.v. tweak and it was fixed?

There are people who flat out aren't seeing it. I'm playing on a Sony Bravia and am not seeing it.

And, again....the build we played, as Nem said, smooth as butter. This build several weeks prior to the one we played.

In all honesty i play my 360 more then the ps3 and on my 360 i have about 50 friends but i say about 10 im really cool with(They have a ps3 as well) and i asked them if they were seeing what i was seeing and they all said yes. It's not tv lag because im playing it on a 720p HDTV and the ps3 is on 720p as well. So if you add 10 that i mentioned from my friends list plus all the people here that have been saying it as well. I'd say that's probably around 50 if not more. As far as recording it, I would do it but after school tonight.

For some ungodly reason, I am having a difficult time with pitch recognition. What batting view is everyone using?

Jim i think its down to the tv type or ps3 hook up...the worst part is that the devs are not getting this problem neither, so like sox said, they cant fix something they dont see

but the issue is definatly happening, i can confirm, ive been playing 08 quite often last couple of weeks and i felt right of the first pitch 09 demo wasnt as smooth...

i just pray i wont get that on the full version, if i do, i can bet ill be selling my tv and getting a diferent one...no way im gonna miss maximum experience with this game this year!

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Well, if it's as bad as some are saying I can only say hold off on the first day until people can post their impressions. Instead of buying it, knowing the problem is there for you and then complaining about a known issue for you.

I can assure everyone here that the game ran as smooth as silk up at SCEA. Don't know what else to say (plus there are people here saying the same thing).

Not going to beat a dead horse anymore. Hope it works out.
