On the plus side, Heilman's been pretty much atuomatic for me - 1.20 ERA in over 30 appearances.

Question for those of you using the Cubbies.
Any of you having much luck with Marshall, Harden, Gregg, or Cotts? In my Season mode, these guys are pretty brutal for me. Marshall and Cotts have ERAs above 6. Harden and Gregg are at 5. You've got to love a closer with an ERA just north of 5. Harden has shown a little hope of late, but all in all he's been pretty brutal despite having very good attributes.

Gregg is BRUTAL! He was blown a lead at least 3 or 4 times. -

Harden is straight up dirty. Idk how you are sucking it up with him.Comment

Re: Question for those of you using the Cubbies.
I had to demote Marshall after three starts because he was getting hammered. Cotts has yet to allow a run through April (haven't really used him that much). I'm 3-2 with Harden, and I was pitching well up until his last start (had won 3 straight). Gregg started off terrible for me, but he's been money lately and I have his ERA back below 4.00.
I had to quit using Marmol and Gregg as closer. Samardzija is my guy now, and he's done okay for me.Comment

I had to trade Cotts he was just killing me. And in the second inning of opening day in my franchise Zambrano went down with a sholder injury and wont be back until June so I moved Samardzija into the rotation and he is killin. Lee and Ramirez wasnt producing with the bat at all so I swaped spots with them in the order Ramirez now batting 3rd and Lee 5th and the hits are coming now.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

I haven't started a franchise yet because I want to wait and see if SCEA will fix this season schedule issue. The more I think about it, the more the number of night games bothers me.Comment

I've had great success with Harden, Marshall and Gregg. Of course I'm just in spring training so no one is going much more than three or four innings for me right now, but most the runs scored on me with those guys have been my fault more than them getting rocked to be honest.Check out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:

Re: Question for those of you using the Cubbies.
Not too much problem with Harden. My general strategy is to work him hard for 5-6 innings, he's not the type of guy you try to take something off of for durability.
Gregg is pretty bad, and I use him in less important situations only. I use Marmol as a closer, and I'm 100% in save situations with him (16 shots). I actually put Cotts in the minors.
Marshall is kind of streaky. His style seems to be very similar to Lilly. He can have great games but also really bad ones.Comment

Re: Question for those of you using the Cubbies.
Harden is my ace right now, he is NASTY. An era sitting in the 2.40s, I can't go wrong with this guy.
Marshall is doing what a 5th starter should do his era is sitting around 4.3s not bad, but he's a 5th starter I won't complain.
Gregg has given up a few hits and let a few inherited runners score for me but his era is under 1 right now I think around .80s.
Heilman I haven't used much so I can't say nothing there.
And Cotts, well I use him againist nobody, with his 5.40s era, I'm using him in mop-up innings. I'm looking to send him down or trade him once the minor at the beginning of May (I'm in the last week of April).
If I can't bring up nobody hot from the farm, I'll just try and trade him for a left handed relief prospect.
Lee had a very hot first two weeks, with two back-to-back walk-off homeruns. A-Ram has been hitting consistenly .330 and has 4 HR's in April.
My killer right now is Milton Bradley, hitting .260 so far, but he's been hot as of late, he brought his average from .230 to .260 in the past week. He had a VERY cold start for me but he's picking up.Last edited by chicubsfan20; 03-21-2009, 10:36 PM.NFL: Green Bay Packers

Keep in mind, I'm only two weeks into the regular season...Any of you having much luck with Marshall, Harden, Gregg, or Cotts? In my Season mode, these guys are pretty brutal for me. Marshall got hurt at the end of spring training and is on the 15 day DL
Harden is tearing it up for me. 2-0 with a sub 1.00 ERA I think (he had a simmed shut-out and another excellent outing with myself playing)
I traded Gregg. I just didn't like the feeling of someone outside of the team trying to replace Wood so I traded Gregg and have Marmol closing. Plus Gregg had a horrid ST.
Cotts has been getting lit up so far. I signed Ohman to replace Marshall while he's on the DL. As soon as Marshall is back, I'm gonna be sending Cotts to AAA.
Who have you guys been using on your bench? I like a lot of options off the bench. Here's mine:
C Hill
RF Johnson
LF Pierre (yeah, I traded one of my AAA guys for him, good defense and speed off the bench)
2B Fontenot or Miles depending on the lineup
3B Boykins (no idea who this guy is, but he's got nice power off the bench from the left side)
1B Hoffpauer (after raising his attributes)Comment
