Legend mode very hard to hit? whats up?

I've played the show and other games and have always been a very good hitter. last year the show was to easy to hit as my team avg was around .400 on the toughest level. (not trying to be arrogant)

Now i play on legend mode and my team avg is like .211. whats up? i love the harder difficulty but its just so hard to hit doubles and base hits. I have 8 dingers with giambi thru 9 games, but nobody else has more than 1. i have hanley(1), manny(1) and utley (1) and they just cant quite swing it.

i also have young players like drew stubbs, buster posey, and tim beckman on my team and they are each hitting about .130, respectively.

I feel like im making solid contact alot of the time, but theyre always ground balls. it just seems like im gettin robbed of some hits.
any top level hitters know a tip or 2 for me that im missing? i just got the game last week.

It's legend mode man. That's what is up. I was just as good as you at HOF last year, but this year the difficulty has really been stepped up. I'm playing on HOF right now and I'm getting pretty good results. Though I'm no where near the level I was at on last years HOF. Though if you're insistent on playing the legend difficulty you're just going to have to practice. You'll master the learning curve in time. If not, you might need to go down a level.

haha exactly. i welcome this new absurd level of difficulty, ALONG with the more challenging yet realistic gameplay mechanics. i have a feeling its going to add to the mileage of this year's The Show compared to year's before.

This place is killing me these days. It's like people have to be able to "beat the game". This game is developed to be able to give even the best players a challenge. This is not a Mario game folks!

Me too. LEGEND was put in to kick your butt and make you grovel unless you're an extremely good gamer. I don't understand why the original poster would wonder why it's so difficult.

Legend is horrible if you want any kind of real numbers on a season. Unless you make some serious slider changes your not going to be anywhere near the middle of the pack in strikeouts. The computer will never chase on Legend which is just unrealistic baseball.

Legend is the only mode I can play on as hitting is still too easy on Legend. My team batting average is always over .300.

I really think too many people are playing on LEGEND and have complaints when there are other levels that are still challenging for most people.

I play on Legend difficulty b/c I (weirdly enough) enjoy actually losing a video game. I get into it and start yelling when I fail but it's quite a competitive mode. I hope SCEA doesn't change it one bit.
