What about CPU`s trades in franquise mode?

After 30 games in my franquise mode, I realise CPU (I mean the 29 others teams) hasn`t made trades or Free Agents signed. They only call up players from AAA

Does CPU make trades in franquise mode or season??? I hope so

They do, just not in early May. As it gets closer to the deadline they will.
Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

I just simmed a few seasons, and the CPU only traded about 4 times per year...

Total between all the teams? Damn...I had 4 trades within 2 days in June.

does the cpu still not sign free agents during a season (instead of only during the off seasons) post-patch?

Yep. I would sim a season, go through the transaction list, and count all of the trades. I think the most I saw was 5 total.

Very disappointing. If I had known this before I re-started a new franchise mode, I would have turned roster control on.

huh...I saw more than 5 trades total during the course of my season.

From simming through multiple seasons, I can say it varies (likely why CB seems so befuddled at all the low trade talk) but trends low. Trades not around the deadline are rare AND for the ones around it they can be low. The "blockbuster" type trades are really scaled down (a good thing, IMO) as well.

As for FA during the season, I think I saw that the CPU signed a couple at need positions but I'm not 100% on that. They really only seem to sign in the off-season. Too many sports games have that problem, IMO...FA's (even big ones) rot in the queue while the season is going on.

I don't recall any free agents being signed by cpu teams. I'd have to double check, but I dont' recall any.

Yeah, I probably saw anywhere from 10-15, not including my own, take place over the course of the season.

You mean guys like Ben Sheets, Pedro Martinez, Paul Byrd, Kenny Rogers, Moises Alou, Mark Mulder, Mark Grudzielanek, Luis Gonzalez, Frank Thomas, Paul Lo Duca, and the rest of those rotting in FA. LOL just messing with ya, but it is pretty realistic to have good players rotting in FA. Some of them might get picked up this season, but most won't. That is the way of baseball it seems.

lol...yes and no. It is realistic for some good players to be left in the cold, I agree....but many will get picked up at some point suring the season. In The Show, that either doesn't happen or happens much too rarely to pick up on it.

All those guys you mentioned are good NAMES (some are still solid enough players...when healthy) but are all either past their prime or have question marks (like injury concerns, etc). Byrd is actually an exception as he chose to stay out for the first half. In the game, you can release a player and regardless of skill you'll see him sit there.

It's not as bad as other games are/have been, but it's been, as I said, an ongoing issue for sports games in general (certainly not limited to The Show and not even baseball...go check out the Madden forum...lol.).

I'm guessing (with the disclaimer that I know NOTHING about programming) the roster logic for these games is some of the hardest to program.

It would makes sense since there is NOTHING static about it and there are so many moving parts in terms of what the AI should/could be doing.

That is because none of these players actually exist. While someone like you and I would wonder why certain names stay in FA and why certain players are riding the pine while no names take their place (I remember this happening a ton on MVP 05), the computer does not know who these people are. They are just statistical creations with no personality or ties whatsoever to any team. It would be really cool if certain players could be programmed to stay on a certain team even when they suck, like in real life due to fan recognition or club loyalty (does that exist anymore?).
