I'd like to see a few, simply because they represent the 60s, 70s and 80s.

But yeah, keep them to a minimum... And I think those two (Astrodome and Riverfront) are the best.

I get why you chose the Astrodome, but why Riverfront, instead of Veterans, 3 Rivers, Busch, etc. I'd much rather them add more classic stadiums before getting into the cookie cutters, but I miss being able to play at Old Busch.

If they had Tiger Stadium in '10, I'd play all my home games there.

              TIGER STADIUM!

              That would be incredible!

Not only did I frequent there as a kid, but I remember playing there in an old SEGA Genesis game I no longer remember the name of.

I just remember you could pause and use the camera to do a flyover of the entire stadium. How cool!!!

Any ideas on which game that was? I want to say RBI 94, but not positive.

If it had all the division winners goin' back to like 83'/ 84' ( depending which version you had ) , that would be RBI then.
I used to love using that 85' Dodgers team with Fernando Valenzuela and Pedro Guerrero in that game.

Veterans had a notoriously brutal playing surface.

Really I chose Riverfront because when I think 70s I think Big Red Machine... Even over the Pirates. Plus they won the W.S. there in '90 too.

Busch would be okay, though that stadium had features that made it stand out a bit from others in that era, so I wouldn't quite call it a cookie cutter stadium.

This is something I think would be a great addition... That is, featuring the stadiums more...

For my next blog post I'll get into that.

By the way, cleaned up (ie. cut out) the first few paragraphs of this first blog post and got right down to business. Blogs I think should be... *ahem* More professional than forum posts.

Love it...except ....shed either Braves Stadium or the Dome and replace it with Candlestick!
Tigers is a must. I would play a lot of games there...and Ebbets....say goodbye to Citi forever!

no offense, but places like fulton county, astrodome and riverfront would be terrible choices. these places have no character at all. Sure they may rep certain eras of the game, but they are not classics in the true sense of the word.

i would love to see more classics, but i would like to see them look more like classics. I mean the polo grounds looks just a bit to prefect. give it some worn out grass around the mound and edges so it looks more like it did during its era

Very good list! Of course I think Tiger Stadium should be number 1... but then again, I'm a little biased

Heh heh... That place was uh... You must have grown up watching games there or something. I almost considered including the stadium of my youth: the Kingdome, but then I looked at some pictures of it and remembered what an awful place that was for baseball.

In a way they do, because "classic" can also simply mean historical... But I know what you're getting at. I like the two choices also because the turf playing surface changes the game and gives it a different feel.

When I did this list I was surprised because I thought there would be more, but really there's not that many others I'd consider. A few others I thought of including:

-Comiskey... The first one... Kinda too much like the current one.
-Sicks' Stadium... Home of the Seattle Pilots... Pretty much a AAA stadium.
-Memorial Stadium in Baltimore... Kind of basic and bland.
-League Park in Cleveland... Also pretty much a AAA stadium.

There are a few others too, but nothing that really stands out too much.
