Re: Franchise mode?
Yes.....it's the same as '10.
Kolbe and Jeff are looking at the 2013(14) FA problem....and I think as long as "fixing" it doesn't wreak havoc elsewhere, it will get fixed. They think they've pegged what it is.
Odds when I left 50/50...maybe 60/40. I only give it those odds because of time. Yes....this is something that should have been taken care of earlier...but for whatever reason didn't get attention until pressed. We'll just have to deal with that and hope they can get it fixed.
The trade logic. Once I mentioned it to Kolbe....he immediately saw that the # of trades per month was off. Too many early...and not enough in July. He gave me a good indication that this would get done. I also suggested ramping up the difficulty and he thinks he could get that in.
I will say this.....I truly think that Kolbe wants to rip the guts out of the franchise mode...especially the front office stuff and re-do it entirely. Whether they can do that or not remains to be seen, but I'm confident in saying that franchise will get attention for '12.

I like the idea of making the trade logic more difficult....I think it would be great if they put that in and it was one of those things where you knew if you had to make a trade, you were going to have to give up something to get something.Yes.....it's the same as '10.

Re: Franchise mode?
One thing right off the bat.
With the ability to now swap out players off the base set....if you really put in just a few A potential players.....the CPU to CPU trading will be much more difficult...even if it remains the same as '10. In '10 the CPU was willing to dump any age/salary player for an A....if he had anyone on the roster that could be within reason of filling that age/salary players slot.

Re: Franchise mode?
I noted that too. Do you know if they tweaked the logic a bit so CPU can understand he have a good team and they need of few good veterans or there's nothing to do and rebuild the team with prospects ?One thing right off the bat.

To each their own but if you havent seen anything 11 has over 10 that doesnt justify a purchase then wow.

The franchise mode in The Show is very solid, and fairly robust(probably only 2nd to NBA 2k11's...), but it does feel like it may be a little dated, and somewhat cumbersome at times.
To be honest, I'm pretty happy with the state of the franchise mode in this series. I would be perfectly content with some minor upgrades for this year and even next year, if it meant a completely rebuilt franchise mode a couple of years from now. Now, more than everComment

Re: Franchise mode?
Perfect right here, along with 30 team control change training to Manual in global settings
I noticed several threads bemoaning confusion regarding 30 team franchise procedure, so I figured I'd post the down and dirty, effective and (most) realistic way I've found (your mileage may vary on the realism):
EDIT: Maybe this was confusing, but I want to mention that I PLAY ALL MY GAMES. All of MY PROFILE settings are on MANUAL.
30 team control, set your profile to your team.
Injuries: ON
Lineups/Rotations: Manual
Roster Moves: Auto
40-Man Roster: Auto
Waivers: Auto
Injury Management: Manual
Trades: Auto (you still have Veto power)
All Operational issues to: Auto
When injuries occur, make the 'keep active', or DL decision. If you DL the player, the CPU will make the respective call-ups, but WILL NOT put them into the starting lineup, rotation. (Thus preventing the lineups/rotations from shuffling).
Interestingly enough the CPU will actually amend their 40 man or 25 man before the lineups or rotations are set. This is awesome, and saves tons of time. It also allows the user to make a more accurate descion on how to 'fix' the lineup deficient the starter. e.g. if a player no longer injured and you say 'place on bench', (ALWAYS say place on bench!), when you go to resolve the lineup/rotation, the 'replacement' has already been optioned to the minors!
Here's my daily order (which also helps to put other games scores on stadium scoreboards):
1. View today's games
2. Sim all games but your own (sim them one by one, then make injury decisions for other teams,) This is also cool because when you're playing your game the presentation will display scores or status of games currently being played (Takes 30 seconds - 1 min)
3. Play your game (again, mileage and time may vary.)
4. After your game, view all messages (the yellow envelop) for every team. (you'll see potential trades, call-ups, etc.) If something is out of whack you can step in. Once you knock out all the messages, you'll be stoked at the fact there are only 4 or 5 teams to review per day. (Takes about 30 seconds.)
5. Go to next day
6. Repeat (this is where you'll be prompted that team X's starting rotation is invalid, go make the appropriate and realistic fix, takes about 1-3 minutes depending on amount of injuries)
7. MOST IMPORTANT when asked about 'auto utilize' or 'place on bench' at MLB level, ALWAYS say 'place on bench'. The CPU will automatically send down the player they called up to replace the injured starter, and you can then perform step 6.
8. Every few days I take a peek to make sure lineups are still kosher, haven't seen a problem. (1-3 minutes)
This saves all the time of moving up/down players and getting all other 29 teams 40 man, 25 man etc proper.Comment

Yea it is to each it's own but to be honset I barely played 10 it felt kind of like a waste I like to see my players develop and it's not fair if the free agent pool is full of the other teams best young players and it's not like this was a late issue it was known fairly early on so to ignore it is a let down when u aren't going to make any changes at least make sure the modes work...I really don't pay attention to every little details in the stadiums and stances and the such as long as it isn't a radical difference....the control switches are a plus and I nay or may not use them who knows...rtts gets a Little of my attention but I could careless and online is to shaky for me to pay attention
I would like 1 more thing from the scea team and that is for them to tell the community if they fixed that problem or not I know why it wouldn't be smart but I would like yo know when making my decision even though I'm sure it will be a great gameComment

Re: Franchise mode?
Re: Franchise mode?
Do we dare speculate on where franchise mode could go if there is a full retooling of it?
I understand trade problems and that cumbersome issue, but my feeling is that for franchise, it should be fully logical and deep in minor leagues where you have real progression of prospects in ways that feel natural to what happens in baseball.
Now in this game, a great draft prospect will be thrown to triple A and retreads and low end prospects will be at double A. In real life, retreads and good prospects are at triple A and the real prospects are at double A. What needs to happen is a full system of single A systems (yes, plural) where you have a full boot of young prospects who can be made or broken as far as development goes. The jump from single A to double A is where the real separation is.
If franchise mode has a real development where it makes you want to go beyond 3 or 4 seasons and care about how young players really develop, it could be something even more amazing.Comment
