Trophies

Just wondering about the trophies in this game...

I like to earn trophies, but I never really try to get them unless I know I will be able to earn a platinum trophy like in Heavy Rain or Fallout.

I did get the 10 straight home runs trophy the other day with Barry Bonds at Old Yankee Stadium. I wasn't trying for it. It just happened.

Yeah I don't try to get the trophies but some of them just unlock the more you play the game.

I know trophies are designed to get you to experience more of the game, but it frustrates me, because I only ever play one mode of The Show, meaning a large chunk of trophies will never be won.

Pretty much this. Currently I am at 41% which is misleading since Sony calculates differently than simply how many you have actually achieved. I only play RttS but did get the gold for beating the no 1 ranked team on Legend. I remember it well cuz it was on a walk off homerun in the 11th inning.

Exactly. Or for some games, most trophies require online play. I don't play online, so it defeats purpose of getting trophies.

Though I guess it's fitting. Trophies are really just number to brag about online, so if you don't play online, no point to get trophies.

If it was like XBox though where you get MS Points for doing things, I'd be much more inclined to do stuff, because it adds up to having enough MS Points to get items from the store.

So there is absolutely no perks that come with earning more trophies? I never really understood what those things are for...
