    Weird retirements

I was playing RTTS and I just noticed Clayton Kershaw retired in 2015 due to a "poor free agent market". He's only 27 and is rated 99 overall. In addition, Yoenis Cespedes retired at age 30 due to injury still rated 94 overall. Has anyone else experienced a weird retirement?

Bryce Harper retired after the 1st season in mine due to a torn ACL. Brian Wilson and Dallas Braden also retired due to Poor Free Agent market even though I had signed them.

The retirements are whacked out every year, along with the trade logic. However the more and more problems I see pop up the more and more I feel franchise mode is broken.

            Re: Weird retirements

This has been a problem every year I have played (started with 06 David Ortiz cover). So far, it doesn't seem AS bad as previous years where players would retire of age at like 33 or 34. I went through the same offseason twice in my RTTS by accident, and the first time Mike Moustakas retired because of a torn mcl. WHAT?! Luckily my second time nobody crazy retired. Just the normal mariano, other old players etc. But like all of you, Wilson has retired both times. I just started a fantasy draft franchise to hold me over until the new rosters come out, and I really hope that he doesn't retire because I love him and his furry beard and he's the closer for the Indians lol.

If these ate the issues, just hard to believe SCEA hasn't done anything about it, kinda bummed.

That "reason" needs to be completely removed from the game. I have never, ever heard of an athlete in his prime retiring because of a "poor free agent market." Ridiculous.

To be fair, waiting to see what corrections are made via patch before forming conclusions.

Same here, feel like I shouldn't be here as often. I guess most things would just stay unnoticed for me

The wording is just odd. My guess is that it refers to a player not being able to get the type of contract he would want...but if that was the case it should really happen after the off-season.

In previous seasons of the show I never saw a young player retire because of this.

I have seen young players retire from this before, but never "good" young players. Normally I see it with fringe C potential , age mid 20s, 60's rating type guys.

Mike Trout retired after the 2013 in my Franchise due to an injury.
