MLB 14 The Show Wishlist

[Prior]

-The ability to decide how drastic yearly player improvements and declines are (via a slider setting).

-An option to not allow the CPU to make any trades in the offseason. As realistic as The Show is from a gameplay standpoint, the lack of CPU logic in trades is abominable.

-Allowing more key free agents to hit the open market, as opposed to being resigned by their team shortly before the exclusive negotiating period ends.

I'd say you're a little late in asking for things for '14.

This might have been posted and I might have missed it but since they are developing two games or have already this year did they split the dev team or is one crew working on both simultaneously?

I'm pretty sure everyone works on each version, see vita and PS2. What will happen is the outdated version will be limited to what is essentially a roster update.

I would hope not. I for one as much as I love the game would have to think twice about paying that much for a roster update considering someone at OS will most likely do that. I hope anyway.

I think they pretty much have to with the PS3 version, they've been pushing the system for the last couple years so new things can't be added without making cuts elsewhere. Remember, the PS4 will have something like 16x the memory and if NBA 2K14 is anything to go by, hundreds of new features will be added.

My inner conspiracy theorist tells me that SCEA SD has secretly been working on the next-gen version of the Show for the last few years, which is we've only seen updates and tweaks to existing features and not complete overhauls.

Yep. At this point, this is a hopelist .

Anyways, I'll play along.

1) Expanded, playable Single A rosters.

2) Custom divisions.

3) Editable player salary & potential.

4) Able to make a player's second position be as many as needed, & any combination of positions.

5) Hopefully this game will be released for the Vita.

Tough call.
If this was the last year of the PS3 cycle(not having to develop for the 4) I would say my pestering would get a last few things in.

But I don't think we'll see as many changes to MoM this year as we did last.

My biggest wishes for that was
-picking pitch type and location for each pitch(if you wanted)
-generated counts(I can't seem to convince them that this is a viable feature 0
-2 player MoM
-being able to be the base coaches(telling the hitter to go for two.....telling the runner to stop/go home...etc)

Honestly...for MoM....if we had those things, I would say it would be nearly perfect.

I'm one of those weird guys that wish i could ump the game, be a real coach ect... so this being apart of it would be awesome and i would probably play MoM a lot more.

I'm going to campaign for two things here that I think both systems can get and enjoy across platform wide,

1) being an MLB The Show 14 App that lets us connect to our individual franchise modes and rtts progress on mobile. Even cooler, letting it be searchable by username so we can access the whole networks worth of players progress in these modes. IE we can spy on MK Knights franchise mode progress! even if we're not in a franchise mode ourself

2) I hope we can separate next season the number ratings from the bar. I haven't played 2013 yet, but I'm still secretly scared of that transition, I really don't ever want to see it/experience it. I feel much better about the bar, because it signifies you can't put a number on someones speed or contact v RHP. If it's rubbish its rubbish, if its mediocre, it's represented in a bar not by the number #73. I know the bar is nothing but a graphed form of the number rating, but I still feel much better about it, than going that route.

A 3rd add on I have applies to online modes provided it's functional on the PS3, I'd love a co-op mode where 18 players can take the field and do their thing.

Hopefully new features like owner mode with the ability to start a new franchise with created logos and uniforms and the ability to relocate an existing team to a new city.

Deeper statistics is something I would expect.

I believe the Show will be the first sports game which will take full advantage of the ps4 because they have had more time to work with the new machine. Games like FIFA and Madden will be better on the next gen machine but the developers haven't had as much time to work on this year's version.
