Opening Day Injury List for Every MLB Team

Hey guys! I made a list for everyone who does 30 team control and likes to add in the injuries coming out of Spring Training. I used FanGraphs to find out injuries for each team and then cross checked with each MLB teams injury report. Anyone that had a high chance of being ready for Opening Day and wasn’t being placed on the IL, I left off this list. I also didn’t go too deep into the minor leagues, this is pretty much a list of 40 Man Roster injuries.

I’d also like to add that in The Show you may need to get creative with the injuries, mostly look at the days the player will be injured for and find a coordinating injury to match that (hope that makes sense).

Feedback is welcomed and feel free to update anything that I missed, got wrong or has changed. Happy Franchising everyone!!

Great list, thank you for doing this!

Just one update needed I saw, Triston McKenzie will be out around 2 months.

Thank you! Just saw that myself now, I’ve been working on this for 2-3 days so the AL injuries may need more updating than the NL lol. Great catch!

You bet! The OP will be super helpful for those of us that use real life OD injuries.

          So thanks again!

                  Thank you to the OP.

Also have a workaround for The show not allowing you to customize the amount of days someone is on the injured list... its insane what we put up with lol

I create a spreadsheet with the players and the date they should come back from injury. I then just injure them all to like 256 days. I sort the spreadsheet by date the player returns and then just remove the injury on the date they should be healthy.

I can share that spreadsheet as well once opening day comes.

Don't forget there is a limit of how many you can put on the IR

yankees with 9 players (the usual start for them for a season) is already too many, so some you have to move to class A tricky if they have to stay on 40 man roster though.

I don't think a season goes by without Mitch Haniger starting the year on IR lol

I’ve been able to customize days injured in the game, is this not standard? I play Xbox if that matters.. either way, your workaround seems like a perfect solution!

This is 100% true, so some guys that may only be 10-15 day guys, just let them begin the season. Thanks for pointing this out! I appreciate it!

Yea I prefer to go with the other route someone named and just move the player to the minors before I injure them.

The limit only applies to each level of team so you can only injure 5 guys on the ML Roster but you can also injure 5 in AAA/AA/A as well. You could stick some guys who will probably be optioned once they're healthy in AAA and injure them.
