True Contact Rating formula

This works best for the users players, keeps user stats grounded while the rest of the league sims properly. Take the last three seasons batting averages add them together, divide by 3, take the total number and use this scale to find it.
(Ex. 2014 splits .300 vs L .224 vs R, 2013 splits 267 vs L 258 vs R, 2012 splits .288 vs L .212 vs R

L. 300+267+288=.285/ 73 cont vs L
R. 224+258+212=.231/ 46 cont vs R

Conversion chart
Avg. Rating
.200 30
.220 40
.240 50
.260 60
.280 70
.300 80
.320 90
.330 100

Re: True Contact Rating formula

But in your second example wouldn't that equate to 46 for contact ?

Re: True Contact Rating formula

Good base scale bro!

But definitely more variables to it than just this.

How many abs did he have?? What was his minor league stats? Is the guy having a tremendous year? Is it a rookie?? Also sim engine problems would probably cause me to raise this. A three hundo hitter won't hit three hundo with 80 contact. Even with sliders set up to help contact.

But if they get the engine fixed I really like this! Good work.

Re: True Contact Rating formula

This is good for the users team mostly, I always re rate my team only so the rest of the league sims properly. This is for mlb players that anyone feels needs re rated, you did all the hardwork with prospects, minor leaguers, journeyman, etc. If an injury season then just take two seasons divide by two. This is just a tool for anyone to use on mlb'ers.

Re: True Contact Rating formula

avg x 300...theres really no reason to get any more complicated than that

as is, your #'s will get pooed on by the sim engine and nobody will be hitting 300 unless you go and really drop all pitchers ratings

another thing, is that theres no actual formula here, so its really not something that would equate to "fair" ratings for all players
