MLB The SHOW Players Attributes Discussion.

Starting with Red Sox pitcher Brayan Bello. I understand he's had a couple injuies the last couple years but his Durability at 13? Even thru injury, he's managed to pitch nearly 320 innings. I would think at worst he's earned at least a 65. At least.

What would you guys have his Durability set to?

Cleveland pitcher John Means has barely been healthy enough to pitch slightly over fifty innings TOTAL for the last three years, yet he's durable enough to merit an 80 Durability rating?

Bello is an obvious mistake. He made 58 starts over the last 2 seasons and 0 relief appearance but they have him listed as RP with poor stamina. Makes you wonder who works on these rosters and if any checks the work before releasing the game.

I never edit any player attributes but if I did I'd have him maybe 80 durability.

You hear about Sony using a three year weighted average but someone has obviously been taking naps on the job under their desk BECAUSE:

Bello in MLBTS22 as rookie with zero service time, his introduction to The Show, his durability was 13.
In MLBTS23 his durability again 13.
        MLBTS24 his durability again 13.
This year, MLBTS25, same, durability 13.

The ratings are embarrassing this year.

Danny Young of the Mets is rated a 76 and AJ Minter is a 73.

I don't feel bad for myself because I play 99% offline. So I will edit what I need. But for those poor souls playing online. One more challenge to hurdle, one that shouldn't be necessary. Kaleb Ort has had a zero durability forever. Why Sony!

They have declared Cruz fielding at a 90 and acc at 52 dude had 28 errors last season…acc should be nearly single digits…also struck out 218 times…his vision is at 37…should be in the single digits.

Yeah I thought Ridin was doing the rosters now for SDS ? but not sure . Yes they are a mess, there are still DD ratings for some players , it might have zero affect i dont know ? but much like their create a park templates ? just lazy. I use Fangraphs roster resource to fix the depth charts and positions on teams.

I could be wrong but I thought Ridin worked on Minor Leaguers. That has me curious now, gonna scroll thru the game credits screen to see what it says.

EDIT - Well, I didn't learn much, just says Spindler is a Content Design Specialist.

I don't look too deep into minor leaguers outside of Durability and Potential, but pitcher Trace Bright at 24 years old sitting at 60 Over All (as a SP, changed from RP), jumps out at me. His Potential has to be a helluva lot higher than the 17 he was given. Maybe it sounds too high but with my formula, I'll rerate his Potential from 17 to 72.

His stats are pretty close to those numbers when you sim a season.
If his arm accuracy and vision was in single digits he would commit 50+ errors and strikeout 250+ times, he is a great defender as he gets to every ball but has horrible accuracy which is how he commits 80% of his errors

Zack Wheeler Durability 40. He's started 64 games the last couple years. You can trot him to the mound every five days. He doesn't miss his starts.

My understanding is he works on the minor leagues, but major league ratings are still done in house by someone at SDS. I could be wrong though

This along with the debacle with created stadiums is evidence SDS needs to redistribute developer hours.

I've heard at least one great developer left - Nick. SDS needs developers at least as passionate about the game as some of us.

Maybe they manipulate whatever number they need to get their target overall
