No Sounds of the Show in PS4 MLB 15
On the PS Nation podcast Ramone unfortunately confirmed that SOTS will once again be absent from the PS4 edition of MLB the Show. He states that there simply wasn't enough time between firmware update 2.0 and the game's release to implement the feature.

Yeah if you've seen some of the SOTS community on OS, they can be very passionate about the feature and I get it.
It's actually pretty impressive the way they compile all the team and player music each year. SOTS can add a lot to the immersion and replay-ability of the game.Comment

Oh don't get me wrong, I love SotS and used it extensively in '13. I'm just saying it's not a deal breaker, for me at least.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Boy, gaming for the PS4 has really taken a nosedive. Not just no SOTS, but other games releasing stripped down, bare bones versions as well.Comment

Madden is largely a disappointment once you look past the pretty visuals..Maybe I should've rephrased that. Most sports games on PS4 are either lacking features, or disappointing, or both.Last edited by Segagendude; 12-11-2014, 05:24 PM.Comment

And SCEA has said this year will have the most new gameplay features ever added in franchise history, so no worries about it being "bare boned""Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Re: No Sounds of the Show in PS4 MLB 15
If what i understand what SOTS is. It is in the game. We just cant implement our on tunes, via the MP3 playback feature. Don't get me wrong I love hearing AC/DC, Craig Kimbrel on the mound with "Welcome to the Jungle". "Welcome to Atlanta" , by Ludacris while my Atlanta players walk up to the plate. But if they add more variety of artists to the music list it will be just fine. Make the basic music: Latin, rock, alternative, classic & hip with known hits would suffice.Comment

Re: No Sounds of the Show in PS4 MLB 15
As far as SOTS, its ridiculous to me that they don't prioritize this knowing our only option is to wait nearly 15 months just for it to make a presence. They could indicate that they would continue work to patch something in for it. I don't understand why they have to exactly shelf the whole feature. It's a significantly important part of the game, no need in explaining why, but they know how important it has been to the game or they wouldn't have introduced it and kept it in for years.
Of course, 95% of the people won't not buy the game because of this, but that doesn't excuse not even making an effort to include it for the 2015 game in an update.Last edited by @legendm0de; 12-12-2014, 12:31 AM.Red LegendComment

Re: No Sounds of the Show in PS4 MLB 15
I am absolutely devastated.... I've already compiled and cut a ton of music in preparation for '15.
But I guess none of us could be overly optimistic for '15 given Sony's major lack of attention to addressing MP3. If Sony gave us MP3 HDD support in 2.0 then SCEA would have been able to re-use the previous SOTS code base to retain the feature with little-to-no development. But given they gave us a MP3 USB player, SCEA would have to recode the software in order to make that work and obviously it wasn't a priority.
I am so bummed and disappointed...
Ramone if you see this...you mentioned in the podcast that "it is still early". Could you see if your SOTS developer(s) could at least develop the player music (batter walkups, pitchers entrances and the home run) slots this year from the USB player we have now on PS4? I think the community would at least be happy with that given the circumstances.
Or as a last resort, will you at least be able to keep the previous SOTS code base in '15 in case Sony releases MP3 HDD support in a release that could be used in the future? It's what you guys did last year so it should be minimal effort.
Thank you.Comment
