True, I am still a PS3 owner but will probably make the jump soon. Its not just the lack of stack tracking in franchise mode that bothers me. The horrible trade logic, FA logic, the contacts being all screwy, players retiring at 34 and top prospects retiring who shouldn't be, budgets being out of whack.
And sometimes i get the sense that no one cares about franchise mode and people only care if they can change the color of their favorite players socks and SCEA only wants to give us yet another way to play the game, even though we have like 10 already. Probably just my frustration talking though because I know a lot of people play franchise.

I am in the same boat.

Injury history should also be tracked too, even though injuries are no connected in this game to a players health it still could be useful information. It's been said for years they need to take an expanded approach to stat data, and next gen is their prime opportunity to do it. The longer they don't, it causes us all to fall further behind waiting for this game to advance where we all want it to be at. 2015 is probably their biggest year ever with regard to taking this game to a new level or losing alot of support.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats

One particular stat that I hate when it's missing. Every pitcher should have his outing logged. If I'm going against a team, its useful to know whether their closer has pitched 3 consecutive games, if their lefty specialist is available or what the opposing starter had to do in his previous games. Further, before every game I need to revisit team or player history vs a pitcher, so that I know how effective he's been against us. All franchises keep this information and we definitely need it too.

I wouldn't care about any saber metric efforts made if a simple record like this isn't even kept.

Franchise Imo certainly needs to get down and dirty so to speak, it's extremely sterile to me as is.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats

I agree with everything in this thread!!

I love this game and have bought it every year since '07. Even bought it twice last year to have the PS4 version.

I don't think I can do it again this year if these things aren't addressed. It doesn't even have to be a complete overhaul, just some steps in the right direction would be wonderful!

Baseball is a sport that is very statistically driven, and we don't get to see very much, if any, of that making a difference or even having a presence in the game. To me, it really is the only thing missing from an otherwise stellar series.

Same here, but last year I bought both versions mainly because of the different release dates. This year the only way I'm buying both is if the ps3 Show has SOTS.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats

Agreed with 100% of everything on this thread. It really is inexcusable how little attention is given to stat tracking at this point. Nothing has changed since the PS2 days...

I would love to see stats be the primary evaluation tool for a players current skill set instead of the outdated 1-100 scale. I think the most fun and realistic method for any Franchise player would be a combination of the standard 20-80 Scouting Scale and statlines. The Scouting Scale would show a players potential and not his current ability. The current ability should remain hidden and let us figure out where the player stands by evaluating their stats. The offseason would be a BLAST if they did this.
