I havent hooked it up to this new tv yet. I just wasnt sure if on the ps end, the more power amd processing made any difference for the tv.
I have the same set and have no issues. Best TV for gaming IMO.

Re: Input lag on ps4 version?

HDTVs do add input lag when compared to CRTs, but it is not always the TV's fault when it comes to input lag. A number of things can lead to it including controller latency or being due to software (in this case a video game). I think people get confused on what input lag is. It isn't just display lag (HDTV/LCD), but also a delay from the button being pushed and the video signal being sent from the console/PC. In the latter scenario even a CRT with 0 display lag would show input lag.

An example of a non-tv issue with input lag. They found a few ms difference by just turning off multicore rendering. http://eliteownage.com/counterstrikeinputlag.html

The most recent issue I can remember that was not due to the TV was GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One. People complained of input lag in both those versions and it was widespread, not just because someone had a TV with bad input lag. They did patch it though, but it's another example of input lag not being due to the display.

I notice it in MLB 14 a bit, granted I am really sensitive to it as I feel like I am a pretty good hitter in the game. If I try I am typically on the 1st page in CoTW. Granted that tiny delay might be due to my monitor, but it technically has input lag lower than that on a single frame. I was thinking of trying to take a few videos at 60 fps of my displays to see which one had the lowest input lag. The Show is the only game I really care about the input lag. Even in SFIV or other fighting games I typically play online and the added network lag their makes the lag on my end not really helping at all.

To the OP's point, that Sony TV is indeed a good one for input lag, just be sure you turn on Game Mode, cause that is where they measured it from. This is true of all LED/LCD TV's, turning on Game Mode is going to get you the lowest lag your TV can work with.

How do you turn game mode on. This is the first I've ever heard of it.

If the TV has the option it will be in its menu settings.

And if it doesn't, disable as many post-processing filters as you can find. I was getting horrendous lag (about 1 sec.) from my 60" Sharp Aquos until I went in and turned off all of the filters. Now the lag is hardly noticeable, if it's even there at all.
