    That ONE roster move is...

The OSFM roster is here. You're ready to start your franchise but something is missing. There's a move that has to happen.

Maybe there's a player you MUST HAVE or a player you MUST get off your team.

For me, I use the Yankees. I love having Ichiro Suzuki on my squad. He kills lefty pitching. He's still a good defensive player. He still has good speed. He's a great addition for depth AND its Ichiro. He has that classic swing and approach at the plate we've been seeing for years. So mine is Ichiro.

What is that one move you have to make to your squad and why?

    Replace my entire pitching staff.

Why? Go look at the Rockies rotation and bullpen and you will see why. Makes me sad just thinking about it.

And here I am contemplating starting a Rockies franchise because I'm tired of playing the Cardinals, and I cannot carry over my MLB 14 Mariners franchise. I might do it anyway just to see what I can do to improve them. Trading Reyes for pitching is the first move I'd make.

One thing I learned from Millennium's Twitch streams is you can get pitchers with low BB/9 cheap and that rating has zero effect on human controlled pitching.

BB/9 is useless? So what governs classic pitching if it's not the BB/9 rating?

Tigers. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to ditch Mike Aviles. He's old, a backup, not particularly good, and I just can't handle his funky batting stance.

If I continue my Phillies franchise I would love to get Baez from the Cubs but would have to think long and hard about what I'd be willing to give up to get him.

First moves I made were to get rid of prospects not named Benitendi, Devers, Espinosa, Moncada, and go get Chris Archer. Also traded Pablo (!!!!) and Chris Young, because he's a former yankee, and I can't have any of those players on my Red Sox WS winning team.

Playing as Detroit this year. As valuable as Victor Martinez is to my lineup, he regresses far too much after one year so I'm afraid I need to take my heart out of it and deal him. I am thinking I could get Jaso and some B pot prospects from the Pirates for him. Jaso isn't a huge downgrade offensively, and my farm is so depleted right now.

Curious on who you gave up for Archer then. Also what did you get in return for Pablo and Young?

I'm playing as the Athletics (Just Started Last Night, Stay Tuned for updates on my Sig) but I am looking to sign a Veteran Starter or perhaps a Veteran Reliever to add to my Pen. Mark Buerhle looks enticing if I can get him for a certain price and only a 1 or 2 year deal.

Is it just me or does anyone else not like making moves that don't happen in real life?? I started with my Giants last night after OSFM came out and I'm staying with exactly what the team has in real life. Not really a fan of trading for a player I like because I like to keep it authentic. I use DD for my crazy lineups.

Haven't looked bad in recent days, but they are a ticking time bomb and it's only a matter of time before the ERA's will begin to rise.

But back on topic first move is either find a replacement for Boone Logan or find a new #1 pitcher and move our current "#1" De La Rosa.

Once OSFM drops, as a Twins fan, I always try to find a quality starting pitcher or two by moving some prospects. This year, if my franchise goes poorly in year 1, I'll probably also trade Plouffe and move Sano back to 3B.

I normally don't make any moves prior to my initial season, but then will make moves I see fit at the trade deadline and during the off-season from then on. I do try to keep all trades and FA signings realistic and based on performance/team needs at the time.
