Re: That ONE roster move is...

When I noiticed Big Time Timmy Jim on the default roster free agent list, I knew immediatley I would sign him. I'm running with Seattle this year in season mode and I moved Wade Miley from the rotation to long relief to make room for Lincecum. I dropped Mayckol Guaipe from my 40 man & moved David Rollins to Triple A. I realize Lincecum isn't the same Lincecum from 5 years ago, or even 3 years ago, but damn if I don't love me some nostalgia.
I considered signing Cliff Lee but I just don't like using lefties in The Show.
Probably around September or October I plan on doing a Twinkies season & will sign Morneau from the FA list.
    Talk about things nobody cares.

I generally like to stay true as well but I'm 2-5 in my season so far & my Yankees are SO old. So I went out & added another old-timer (Ichiro) for depth.

I do franchises with the Rockies (almost exclusively) and the first move I will make is to offload Reyes. Even if I have to waive him or cut him or trade for a 1 armed, left handed catcher I will make the move. I CANNOT STAND Reyes.

Re: That ONE roster move is...

Everything depends how my squad (Yankees) looks approaching the All-Star break.

If we are in the heat of the race (either divisional or wildcard) I am going to want to make a move for a veteran pitcher for the stretch drive. Brett Gardner, a player I adore is on the block. I will also be willing to part with a prospect (A or B depending on who I get in return) to get that horse I need to put my staff over the top.

The team has a lot of if's though. If Aaron Hicks can fill Gardner's shoes? If the rest of my staff stays healthy (Tanaka, CC, Evoldi etc). If A-Rod can duplicate 2015. If Jacoby can play to a high level and stay healthy, if Texy can stay healthy, if Greg Bird can emerge and....you guessed it, stay healthy.

So everything needs to fall right for me by the All-Star break to consider that "ONE" move.

My plan is to try and stay the course as we are going to shed some huge contracts over the next 2 seasons, and get into the Bryce Harper sweepstakes.

Re: That ONE roster move is...

Considering the sad state of the Braves bullpen and seeing as I use classic pitching where ratings mean much more, I will be making some upgrades....potential moves include signing Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson to aid in middle relief. Also, I'm bringing back a beloved Brave of mine....Jonny Venters. I could bring back Kimbrel to reform the O'Ventbrel trio...but I'm more on keeping things realistic...but oh how I wish!

Outside of the pen, I'm giving Albies and Swanson every opportunity to make the opening day club out of spring training, probably moving Swanson to 2B.

And I'm firing Fredi Gonzalez, day one.

What a weird reason to get rid of a guy. Would you dump Price if he played for NY at some point?

Am a lifelong Phillies fan in real life but just got bored with playing and having to rebuild the Phillies every year in MLB The Show. So I decided to pick a bad team from last year who could be a great team this year to play as and that team was the Boston Red Sox. I have always supported and liked the Rex Sox in real life so I decided to play as them for my franchise in MLB The Show 16 since their have a new GM in real life I thought I could be their new GM in the video game plus they have an improved and really good roster. My starting rotation is David Price, Clay Buchholz, Cliff Lee, Rick Porcello, and Eduardo Rodriguez. Signed Cliff Lee to replace Joe Kelly in my rotation. Have already named Travis Shaw my starting third baseman and am trying to find a decent trade for Pablo Sandoval as I am looking for two decent prospects in return for him.

One thing I learned from Millennium's Twitch streams is you can get pitchers with low BB/9 cheap and that rating has zero effect on human controlled pitching.
Good luck. Trying to dump Reyes now. It's not easy with that contract. I like to keep it realistic so currently looking at Leake from Stl and maybe a prospect. Basically have to eat a big contract in the trade. While Leake isn't bad and will be a top of the rotation guy. I did sign Niemann cause I'm a bitch and hate DLR.

I have little doubt Harper will be wearing pin-stripes in the future. He was made to be a Yankees. That porch? 55-60 HR's for him playing in Yankee Stadium for 81 games.

I will generate a random number (0-50 he tests free agency) to see if the Nat's let him walk or I let the CPU try and re-sign him. I employ 30 team control and I can set the CPU profile to manual for the off-season exclusive resign period and turn it back on on the last day which will lead to a more robust free agent pool. Plus I could switch the team profile to mine for specific players to be exposed in free agency.

                            So we shall see!!
