Do you play Franchise with a team other than your favorite?

Do any of you all play franchise mode with a team other than your favorite? If so why and how do you decide on who you use?

I am thinking about using a team other than the Rangers when OSFM V2.0 40 man rosters are released, but having a hard time decided on who to use and hopefully not get halfway in and regret not going with my team.

One positive for me is I won't know the team or prospects as well as I do the Rangers, so I will be able to make it more of "my league" and not afraid to move pieces etc...

I am also torn on rebuild mode or a win now team. Looking at the NL - Braves, Rockies, Marlins, Phillies, Dodgers, Pirates or Nationals. Not sure if I could play with another AL team.

Thoughts?

I used to always run with my team in any sports game, but that changed lately. In 14 I did one with the Twins because I love their uniforms. Last year and this year I am rolling with the A's because I always have viewed them as my "favorite" AL team.

Always. I don't like using my favorite teams in any sports video games. I am too attached to the players and never want to make any changes.

I prefer to pick a mid to low tier team and try to rebuild them. That way I am not attached to the current roster or prospects and feel more comfortable making moves.

I am a Red Sox fan and this year will be trying to get the Pirates over the hump.

For my main franchises, I always go with my team and play every game. I always do a secondary franchise (with a rebuild team) that I mostly just GM and sim, playing a game every now and then.

i do 30 franchises a year. each team is different and it's fun. although i hate using my fav teams.

this year i think im going to use the rockies

A season or two, but not a longterm franchise.
Whichever teams strikes my fancy at the moment.
Right now I'm playing the M's 2016 season.
I don't know if I'll take it past 2016 or not,
but I've already decided I will play the Rockies 2016 next also.
This is the first year I'm not playing with ATL since Lord knows when.

I think I am going to pick an NL team, do single control (no 30) and play it as is. I won't try to rob the CPU in trades, but if I put someone on the trade block and something good is offered, I can take it. If there is a player on the trade block and I can offer something reasonable, I will do it.


I worry about this being un-realstic, or this not being correct, that it takes away from the fun. Now I just need to decide on a team...

I won't try to rob the CPU in trades, but if I put someone on the trade block and something good is offered, I can take it. i do, because in a franchise i like to trade but i find it much harder to trade if im using my fav team(blue jays). but when i choose a team to play i take into consideration what the home field is, and its a big one for me. ive always wanted to try and play the Rays as a franchise but i just cant cope with playing 81 games in the trop(such a horrible field)

I play all games with the Cubs, but also play most with my favorite AL team the Rays. I also play occasional games of other teams if I like a certain starting pitcher for that day. 30 team control is nice.

I'm a mariners fan but I play with the padres because I don't want the DH and I want a bad team I won't feel guilty ripping apart. Also because they haven't won a WS yet.

Once OSFM 2.0 drops I'm going to start a Rockies franchise instead of the usual Cardinals franchise. Would love to rebuild the Rox and take over the west again.
