Now that we are just a few weeks away from getting some real info on MLB The Show 17. Do you guys think 17 will be one of the bigger upgrades in the series with a lot of WOW factor features and improvements? Or do you think this will be one of the more duller releases in the series with mostly smaller things like gameplay fixes, new animations and small additions to current modes, slightly updated overlays for example?

Gameplay fixes are first on my list. They have reconfigured ball spin which should add realism.

I'm still focused on the two unrevealed classic stadiums. To have Griffey on the cover in the game, and also (i'm assuming) Edgar Martinez returning, and possibly another M's legend... they've gotta have Kingdome in the game. Griffey literally built his entire legacy in the Hall of Fame in that place.
It's not a deal breaker or anything, I just think it'd be a missed opportunity.Comment

I'll go into the release of information with the same mindset that I did for the previous years. My thought is that this year's game will be an improvement over last year's game. Nothing more, nothing less. And thus far, I've never been let down.
I don't let myself get carried away with thoughts of I hope this is in, or that is in. Certainly there are things that I want in the game, but I try not to let those things get out of hand to the point where anything less will be a disappointment.
Not sure if that makes sense, but hey it works for me.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I agree Country. For me, they are already re-adding Metrodome & Sun Life Stadium (I practically grew up in that ballpark)... so for me, i'm already happy. I've already pre-ordered the HOF edition.Comment

I think the 4 classic stadiums are Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, Metrodome, Sun Life in Miami (originally Joe Robbie).
Sun Life is interesting because it is probably the most park effects neutral of the 8 classic stadiums released so far.≡Comment

Just improvements year over year. I would not say biggest update ever. For me the series seems to be getting a little complacent. This opinion could totally change though if they do some drastic overhaul of franchise mode, which is what I play 85% of the time. I guess it depends what you look for in the game, I know a lot of people are obsessed with DD but I've never been able to get into it.Comment

Yeah it seems almost all the time has been focused on DD. Which I understand from a business perspective. I'm hoping for an updated Online Franchise that's the same as offline. Ramone said last year no attention was given to it because it had such as small player count. That's because it was broken since it debuted in 14.
Love the gameplay, love playing with friends. Hopefully less time spent on card games.Comment

For me whatever they add at this point feature wise is a bonus. My biggest needs at this point would be a smooth 4K experience on PS4 Pro (MLB 16 is brutal in 4K) and some improved visuals for the Pro users as well. The graphics engine is becoming long in the tooth for me. They've made nice little enhancements yearly, but the jump from PS3's final year to MLB 16 has not been the massive jump I hoped for.Comment
