You can call for location's not specific pitches.Go into pitch strategy during the game. You can also call pitch aggressively, pitch to batter or pitch around. For me pitching is my favorite part of manage mode

Calling for one of the three available "High" pitches is not guaranteed to be a fastball, but often it is. One of my favorite strike out pitches is when I have a right hand pitcher facing a left handed batter (likewise a southpaw pitcher facing a righty batter) is to call for high and away pitch with 2 strikes (especially if I was able to work the count low and away first). It does not always result in a strike out, but it's got a good success rate.

Re: Manage only mode

Does anybody's camera's not save the presets you set in MOM? Do I need to change in the main menu?

Completly agree calling high is almost always fastball and low is often offspeed but not as often as high=Fastball

The MoM camera views are set from inside of a MoM game. Once you do this once, the game will remember the camera setting for all other MoM games until you're in a MoM game and reset it to some other view.

Re: Manage only mode

I noticed in my game this evening that they fixed the sacrifice bunting animations. If you remember two years ago when we called for a sacrifice bunt, the batter would try and lay down a bunt no matter how far the pitch was out of the strike zone. Last year they fixed this where we were not having the strike called against us, but the animation still made it look like the batter was trying to lay down the bunt. Well this year, it's fixed. This year if the pitch is out of the strike zone, the animations show the batter pulling back the bunt attempt. It took many years of whining and complaining, but they got it right this year.

PS: as far as sliders are concerned. So far I am liking what I am seeing. Got at least a dozen CPU vs CPU games in all with realistic results. Plus my MoM game was pretty good as well. Right now I am inclined to keep the contact slider at 7 though I am keeping my eye still on the high strike outs and the Rockies have hit 7 HRs in two Spring Training games and have given up 2 HRs at the same time.

Here's the box score basics from my game.

COL 6-9-0
SD 0-3-0
