    Carryover or Start Anew?

It seems this is the first year that carryover is functioning as intended, without the loss of stats, morale, etc. It's very clean, and the only quirk I've seen is that you now suddenly use the 10-day DL instead of the old 15. No big deal. I also noticed that the '16 fictional draftees all have generic cleats. Again, not a huge deal.

So now I'm trying to decide, and figured others might be as well, how to proceed:
    • Option 1: Start a new franchise in MLB Show '17. If so, which team? Which role do you play? GM, manager, a combo of both?
    • Option 2: Continue my Twins franchise from Show '16 which is in June 2016.
    • Option 3: Continue my Twins franchise from Show '16 which is in June 2016, but simulate/play the moments for the rest of 2016.

I really don't want to sim, but I also don't want to get behind the real life schedule. Option 1 would then be appealing, but I get the feeling OSFM won't be ready by Opening Day, so perhaps it's moot?

Thoughts?! What are folks doing with their existing franchise, especially if they did not finish the 2016 season?

I say to Option 2 and 3. also, in order to fix the sim stat problems - we will need to play every game. at least parts of it. the gameplay is so good, that it may be worth it.

My latest slider set update has fixed this issue. I've been trying for years, and it's finally possible now.

All I'm weighing now is whether to bump AI power down to 4 or 3. 5 is way too high. I saw your other suggestions, but honestly, those are going to mess too much with the swing and miss rates and foul ball percentages, which are perfect. AI power is the only slider needing adjusting from my current set, and I say that with extreme confidence.

I carried over my season mode, seems to be working fine.

My only gripe is my whole team are CAPs and their eyes are bulging out of their faces. Also the picture of them in the pause menu (in-game), their eyes are discolored or something. Looks strange.
Otherwise the game has been very good for me.

I had a Yankees franchise last year, starting a new franchise this year with the Atlanta Braves that I will probably consider carrying over into next years game. I've never yet carried a franchise over yet. Always feel like and end up starting a new one every year with the latest real life roster. Waiting for OSFM of course, I would think the wait wouldn't be too bad this year.

Yes, they did a very nice job with carryover saves this year. I wish that was the case last year, but a year of growing pains is to be expected, perhaps.

Yes, I think RTTS is going in a really good direction. The addition of the narrator and pave your path style is fun. I did have a hiccup where the narrator went silent for a couple weeks in game but at the All-star break he came back luckily.

Not much for me to complain about at all, good stuff from the studio!

(I'm also giving dynamic difficulty a chance this year, has been great especially with RTTS. With hot/cold streaks and the struggles of going through the minors, it's a nice balance to have. There's a challenge once you get to the right difficulty level but if it gets too hard it reminds you that it's a game and to have fun by making it a little easier.)

I've carried over a Pirates franchise until the best version of OSFM is out. I am in 2018 and I sim more than play so I have no issues waiting until June as I will be using critical moments and simming with any new franchise I start.

carryover. theres no point to start a new one until OSFM rosters are out so might as well keep ur OSFM roster that u have from 16. they are insanely accurate to even the MLB player ratings in 17 i found out

Yeah, I guess for now carryover has no downside. I wish I had gotten through my 2016 season, but I felt soooooooo burned by Sony after doing 162 games (every single pitch) only to find that carryover saves worked...rather poorly.

Glad to see they are working better this year though!

If I do start fresh, I'll be going with:

Red Sox (technically do not have a GM)
                        Marlins (No GM)
Pirates (Would they get new GM to allow for them to make the decision on McCutchen?)
White Sox (Hahn steps down, similar to Dombrowski (fired) in Detroit after selling off parts)

                          Re: Carryover or Start Anew?

I started out with a new franchise, but couldn't get into it. So I carried over my franchise from last year. So glad I did. I'm attached to this team.

I didn't experience any issues. Jose Fernandez and Yordano Ventura are given fake names while keeping their current attributes and stats.

Personally, I went back and made them Fernandez and Ventura.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I on the other hand have decided to start over. I have been playing the same Nationals Franchise since '14 and I have reached 2021. I am at the point where they are now a rebuild team and wont see glory again for a good bit. Which is fine and has been a lot of fun.

But man '17 feels really fresh and new for me. So I have decided to start over this year. I was going to run a Padres Franchise to, because I have always wanted to do a re build in this game and I never have. But I decided to NL teams was a little ridiculous, so I went with the O's. Not really a re build yet, but not really a contender either. A lot of age and if I decide to shop Mochado who knows what could happen,

Youre nuts bro. If O's get their pitching together they're contending for the AL pennant with Houston.
