Bat Contact Sound

What happened? Today's patch totally change the sound of the ball off the bat. I'm wondering why this change was implemented and everyone's opinion on the change.

I believe it was a bug created by the patch and we will have to wait for the next update to fix it.

Simple as that. No way in my heart of hearts I believe this was intentional.

Am I to understand that no matter the type of hit, it will sound like a weak popup or grounder? No more solid contact even if it is solid contact?

I saw a lot of post in the impressions thread people had issues with the new bat sound. But I am personally tying to avoid patches until the last release. When the last patched for MLB 16 was released the game felt really stable. But some times small things change with out and announcement so I am staying away for now considering I play offline.

Not sure if its completely possible but I am going to try to avoid patch issues by using the latest PS4 copy game to external drive feature. That way if there is a issue's like this I can revert back to the previous version.

That certainly seems to be the case, as I said in the patch thread I had Chris Davis hit a bomb off of me and it sounded like the bat had split when he hit it

This is weird because I am not experiencing this broken bat sound you guys are talking about. I am not saying you guys are lying. Just not experiencing it.

Have you guys tried deleting and reinstalling the patch?

I have experienced this, but it's been on foul balls, or weak hits. I hit a HR with Pujols, and it sounded just fine. Hit a line drive for a hit with C.J. Cron and it also sounded fine (went into the replay just to hear it isolated).

Bat Contact Sound

I am starting to hear the different dynamics of this new ball on bat sound.

When I hit ropes it is a very loud crack of the bat.

When I hit HR's it is fine.

When I hit weak grounders I hear it.

I am not a big fan of this change and rather they revert to the pre patch audio.

But it was a little startling at first. The more I play though the less it is bothering me.

Just puzzled by this decision if it was a conscience change.

Played a series...It definitely sounds different. It doesn't always sound like a weak hit. It just sounds different. Sounds weird...

The more I play the more I am convinced it was an unintended thing.

It will be fixed next patch....no doubt...because it sounds so bad.
I am not kidding. Something is wrong. And they have to fix it.


Edit:

Folks Adam SDS has already acknowledged this and it is being currently investigated for a future patch.

Sit tight everyone. I knew this was not intended.

Seriously feel like I'm swinging with kendo sticks. Very off putting sound, making me really not want to hit the ball lol.

Yeah, I'm getting the bad contact sound all the time, but I think it's because all I'm getting now is bad contact.... :/
