Saw that Best Buy was offering pre order for ‘18.

It says that if you pre order you get the game Friday, March 23 and ALSO get a digital copy of the game.

So do we actually get both the physical disc and a digital download of the game?
If so, can we pre-download the game to be able to play on midnight of the early release? And also, do we even need to open the disc ever if we already have the digital copy?

No. The digital is the code for your pre-order bonuses.

Oh, ok. The wording was somewhat confusing and someone in the DD video thread said it, as well.

Are there any other places, besides PS online, selling a digital copy for preorder?

gamestop is doing early access bonus for all 3 versions. I did the MVP edtion myself for the steelbook

I dunno some people seem to like owning the physical disk, it's something that is kinda pointless with sports games. because it never gets used again after a year. I refuse to trade games away too, I understand people get some money back when really they are getting ripped off and charged for the game twice doing in that way using simple economics.

PSN is easier can pre load it and have the game ready to play at midnight come the 23rd

What's wrong with just ordering it off PSN?

I have gift cards for Best Buy and discounts elsewhere. But I want the digital copy because I share my games with a buddy back where I’m originally from.

You can use your Best Buy gift cards to buy PSN cards, then buy the digital version.

Sports games I really never keep after a new version comes out.
Either trade or like I just did with '17, sell on facebook.

I pre-ordered MVP edition at BB so I'm all set. Just wish we were closer to release

Yeah it really depends on what your preference is in regards to digital or disk. To me if its digital its most efficient off the PSN. The gamers club though mostly keeps me disk based.

Has anyone preordered from Best Buy but ship to home? In your experience, does the game come in the mail on the day of release?

For MLB18, is it guaranteed to arrive at my home on the 23rd?
