I am curious to know how they are going to implement two-way players in franchise mode. I want to know if we are going to be able to create players and use them as two-way players.
Can anyone with the game provide any information on this?
We honestly have no idea as they've never explained it, I feel it's just a wait and see thing as there are maybe 5 players at most who are two-way players and most of those aren't at the MLB level yet
In one of the streams within a franchise you can play a player minimum 20 games at a position and make them a 2 way player.
Not certain for a player already known as a 2 way player if it will be editable in franchise, but I highly doubt it.
More than likely only in franchise when u play a player at new position for 20 games you will have the option to make him a 2 way player. They never showed or really discussed how it will work.
I would think it's only pitchers playing as a fielder for 20 games that you get prompted to make him a 2 way player.
Well I guess the big question is how the hell would it work for guys like Ohtani. will he show up on the lineup screen as a option to put in ANY day. because last year he would only show up on days that are NOT before the day and after he pitches.. that was the huge issue you had to fool the system and move him around the rotation to make him DH every day it was stupid. and the year before you had to keep sending a guy down and back up again so you didn't burn a bench spot so you could sub him as DH
so we will see if the 3rd year that they finally get it correct
What I did when ohtani was a pitcher start him pitching when it was his start, but on days he was batting you can start him but once game started you could move him to RF etc...you just half to bring in another pitcher.
The pitcher you bring in I dont think gets the start stat cant remember.
So i took a yankee prospect Deivi Garcia and I had him playing SS through spring training. Had more than 20 games at SS with more than 3 ABs and nothing.
I took the same player while in triple A to more than 20 innings pitched and more than 20 games min 3 ABs per game and still nothing.
Ima try doing this in the majors to see if thats it.
Note: i edited his attribrutes to make him a better hitter/ fielder

You'd think they could take 1 minute away from showing their DD stuff in their streams to explain stuff like this.
If I have a 2-way player (starter and 2B/DH) do I need to rest him the day before/after a start? Will he be completely depleted after a start, or does he have one energy level for pitching and one for playing? Thanks!

They did explain it
Here's Showtyme15 sharing how the feature works as explained by the devs:

The feature only works in franchise mode. A 2 way player has to start out as a pitcher then you have to move him to a position where he must play at least 20 innings or more and get at least 3 at bats to be classified as 2 way player. Once this is achieved he will get a the 2 way icon in franchise mode.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
2nd thing is angels can only have a 25 man roster because it won’t let you have 14 pitchers because the game doesn’t count him as a position player only pitcher so he has to sit in rotation or BP
So once again a 3rd year it’s broke and we have to much around to send players down and up to get ohtani at bats to be used right
Only thing they changed was that you can pick pitcher at the lineup screen but hit save him in a lineup
